Tehran denies Iraqi claim to borderline oil field, says troops are 'on Iranian soil, as defined by known international borders'.
Iran confirmed Saturday that its forces had taken over East Maysan oil field, located on the Iran-Iraq border. The move caused a 2.4% spike in oil prices.
"The Iranian forces are on Iranian soil, as defined by known international borders. This oil field is Iran's" said an Iranian armed forces statement quoted by the Islamic Republic Arab-language television station, al-Alam.

Two muzzy nations fighting over oil. Wonder what the zero will say about that.
They're not that brave. They bolster their position by spitting on someone weaker than they are. That's what Obama has brought upon us.
Seeing as Obama bombed Yemen on Thursday (and the terrorists in Yemen are financially backed by Iran), was the taking of this oilfield in Iraq on Friday a retaliation of some sort??? That’s what I’m wondering.
I read on another thread that this argument over the oilfield has been going on for years now, however the timing makes it interesting to ponder...
Is Iran testing Obama, or is he testing the Iraqi Government/Army with this latest action? Will we/they just let them have it, or is someone going to go there and have to fight for it back? Sounds like a total set-up to me with the current world situation with Iran... Like they are just egging people on hoping for someone to retaliate directly, instead of just hitting their proxies.
Curious: Does anyone know what our responsibility is in Iraq now regarding who is supposed to watch over and protect these oilfields now? Have we handed this part of security over to the Iraqis yet, or is Obama shirking his duties by ignoring this?
It will certainly be interesting to see what happens next... Prayers for our brave troops, and civilian workers in Iraq.
Yes... more everyday. He wasn’t my favorite President ever (I disagreed with a number of things he did, frankly), but all in all Bush was infinitely better than Obama.
At least Bush had/has a pair and didn’t play games and dawdle when action was necessary!
Stealing that image from you... It’s a good one!
......the taking of this oilfield in Iraq on Friday a retaliation of some sort?......
No, the taking is an indication of strength and a test.
The incident in Saudi Arabia was a message delivered by Yemeni surrogates. “Stay out of this or death will follow” It was the equivalent of a dead horse’s head in the bed of King Fahad
“At least Bush had/has a pair and didnt play games and dawdle when action was necessary!”
Sarah won’t dawdle either.
...The Shaft.
Carter did the economic equivalent of turning down the wrong fork in the road while giving away the Panama Canal and allowing Iran to take hostages with impunity.
The only real lasting Carter effect was the lack of Panama Canal ownership, leftists in the court system, some Billy Beer cans, peanut jokes, and the Reagan Revolution.
Obama is doing the economic equivalent of turning the car in the wrong direction when you are in a skid on an icy road with a 300 foot cliff next to it.
I don't think there is going to BE a Reagan who can fix the damage in 4 to 8 years. The leftist anti-American scourge is too vast now. The shrill screaming we heard during Bush's years will become a militant force post Obama. I fear we are heading to Civil War. Things will be too far out of control post-Obama for civil discourse and legislation to fix---as if they aren't already too far out of control.
Obama isn't going to "give" us anything other than an end to the Republic as we know it. There is no Reagan on the national political scene (no, Sarah Palin is no Ronald Reagan, sorry). The only thing that is going to rid us of Obama and the tyrannical 'Rats is an uprising of the peasants similar to those of the Middle Ages, who, when they'd suffered enough, rose up to slaughter their overlords. It will only happen when there are a lot more of us than there are of them, because their sycophants in the media and their scum camp followers like on DU and KOS will protect them to the end.
“Truer words my friend! Jimmy Carter gave us Ronald Reagan...BO will give us ?”
In this case, BO will only give us more BO.
I do believe that Persia included all of Iraq and Persia’s capital was Babylon... I could be wrong but...
capitals aren’t what they are now. Cities were more a force on their own.
If I remember my Bible correctly Babylon the city-state was conquered by Cyrus the Persian & Daniel greeted him with Isaiah’s prophecy of the event 150 years earlier
U.S. To Help Rebuild City Of Babylon In Iraq

“preparation for building a modern city of Babylon”
Chuck Missler has been saying for decades this would happen.
I remember from my readings though that somewhere it is prophesied that Babylon will never be rebuilt. He takes Revelation’s Babylon to be literal though.
Let’s lay the current blame where it belongs...Jimmy Carter.
Only after Cyrus the Great conquered Babylon. And that didn't happen without a fight.
Persopolis
Gotta keep those oil prices up.
Perhaps it is time for the US to actually BE the imperialists the world claims we are.
