8” and piling. We were only supposed to get 3” by now.
‘
It is 8 inches plus this morning in the Fan District, and still snowing.
Yuengling? what GREAT taste! love it. be right over.
At least 8 inches in Baltimore now.
Started a slow cooker of chili. Never have the patience to put it on slow. And I peak all the time at it. Should be great for a snowy day.
pity the storm doesn’t seem to have ground the gov’t to a halt :(
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. We have been doing a bit of shoveling.
Yes, bad idea. We are near Harper’s Ferry. At the present time, we have about 11”. Still snowing, roads not good. Stay in if possible.
Regards,
AR
FYI, we are in Olney, MD, about 10 miles straight north from the north tip of DC.
Since the wind has picked up it is really had to tell how deep the snow is. I see the tips of grass in one area and snow drifting against our small wall. News reports though indicate about 8” in our area. We do have about 1 1/2” inside our screened in deck. So much for moving the furniture to the center to keep it dry.
And you are welcome. Walter Reed tickler - Santa was even there but you’ll have to wait for the AAR to read more. :-))

You are welcome from the 7 patriots there, and from all the others who have stood at Walter Reed, including yourself.
Of course one of our 7 was Santa.
Once I get the fire going I’m going to try to shovel the snow. Just as with a leaf blower, one shovels with the wind.
I don’t mind the shoveling, but I hate the wind chill factor.

I'll bet it was! I driven 395 like that too. My pic just shows what it looks like after the storm and snow plows have been out.
20-some years ago my mother in law gave me a magnificent hand-made quilt that was then at least 50 years old, a family heirloom and absolutely magnificent. With it she gave me a pair of white gloves, noting that it required special care and was ‘museum quality,’ of which there is no doubt.
So it sat in a blanket chest all those years. Last Spring I said, in essence, what am I DOING? So I put it on my bed and have been using ever since. It is to me insane to ‘store up treasures.’ Hopefully, those ‘kids’ will overlook the conditions attached, together with the resentments they apparently feel, and start to use and enjoy their quilts.
Very good analogy...
Obama is the first Pharoah of our time... So let it be written so let it be done.
I think you’ll like it. : )
As I mentioned in another post, snow ice cream ingredients are very adjustable. Your tastes may vary from someone else’s, so adjust your ingredients accordingly.
Some people use whipping cream or half ‘n’ half, others use whole milk, etc., and try different flavorings.
We used Pet or Carnation milk most of the time with white sugar and vanilla flavoring. Fun thing is that you can make as much or as little as you want too. You might want to start out with a smaller amount of snow and gradually add your other ingredients to find out what suits your taste.
Bet most of the kids like it for sure. Guess I’m still a kid at heart, because I make it every time it snows. : )
I bet shoveling the snow will be good physical therapy. Might even get your blood pressure up. Cheaper than Vegas.

WHOA NELLIE!!!!
I can say I’m still seeing grass here as we’re only on the fringes of this thing.
I vaguely remember the blizzards of 77 and 78 if only because I was actually here for one of them(78). I was overseas for 3 weeks when the 77 blizzard shut Cleveland down for a week. Being a 5th grader at the time I had 3 weeks worth of school work to do as I had been given the assignments before I left. When I came back I was 2 weeks ahead of everyone else cause I only missed 5 days of school.
The blizzard of ‘93 was epic. I don’t think I ever felt wind blow like that for as long a period a time as then. Snow, sure but only around 8” or so. But the drifts were unreal.....
Went from Germantown, Maryland to Wegman’s near the Dulles Airport off Route 28....hoping to get some freshly baked bread.
Drove Georgetown Pike Route 193 West thru Great Falls, VA.
Four-wheel drive and new tires....piece of cake.
Now that’s what I’ m talking about!!!
Don’t let a little snow stop what needs to be done!!!
There’s going to be some snow covered NFL stadiums tomorrow......
Good luck Frank Gore trying to carry the offense on a snowy field.......
YER GONNA NEED IT!!!
