WHOA NELLIE!!!!
I can say I’m still seeing grass here as we’re only on the fringes of this thing.
I vaguely remember the blizzards of 77 and 78 if only because I was actually here for one of them(78). I was overseas for 3 weeks when the 77 blizzard shut Cleveland down for a week. Being a 5th grader at the time I had 3 weeks worth of school work to do as I had been given the assignments before I left. When I came back I was 2 weeks ahead of everyone else cause I only missed 5 days of school.
The blizzard of ‘93 was epic. I don’t think I ever felt wind blow like that for as long a period a time as then. Snow, sure but only around 8” or so. But the drifts were unreal.....
Biggest blizzard I’ve been in was when we moved to Chicago around ‘67. We got 3 feet in one fall. Where there were drifts it was close to 5 feet. We dug tunnels and made an igloo/fort kind of thing. Then it warmed up and froze again making an ice crust on top you could walk on...I was only seven then and didn’t weigh much. Memory I’ll ever forget.
BTW that pic was an hour+ ago and at 14”, since then we got another inch at least. That’s about the rate, an inch an hour.
It looks like the weatherperson was wrong again. It's creeping more into PA than they thought.
Won't even attempt to get out of my 120 foot driveway until they plow the roads tomorrow.
The snow is beautiful. Life is good.
