(SALT LAKE CITY) Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney is preparing a more prominent presence on the national scene with a new book coming out in the spring. His new book, No Apology: The Case for Americas Greatness comes out March 2 and Romney is kicking off a book tour at the Salt Palace March 13 with a book signing hosted by the University of Utahs Hinckley Institute of Politics. Kirk Jowers, a long-time Romney backer, is its director and says the book will offer ideas about turning around a nation some see in a decline. Jowers said he hopes to have 10,000 people at the book signing in March. At an earlier event, Romney was in Salt Lake City and was asked by reporters if he was running for the 2012 election. Tickets go on sale for the book signing this Thursday at 10am on MittRomneyUtah.
But it'll be interesting if Romney does a cultural comparison -- which I doubt -- 'cause that would be perceived as a "putdown" to certain cultures...or, will he just define America as "great" in ways that ignore our not-so-great aspects of who we've become & instead seek to simply fuel pride that transcends patriotism?
Here's some things, for example, which has shown that the latest generation of America is not so hot:
America as a major exporter of hard-core & soft-core (MSM/Hollywood) porn...of which Mitt financially benefits via being a board member for a corporation part of the porn industry -- Marriott
America as a major funder of worldwide abortion programs
America as a catalyst for getting other countries to celebrate perversity
Obviously, there's much to love about this country. But too often "freedom" has been extended to = "licentiousness." And the polls have been showing for the past decade that 70%+ of Americans think we're headed in the wrong direction morally. This country was rooted in so much that has been indeed great...but we can't always live off the capital of the past when too many liberals & religious rhinos ave directed our children to live otherwise.
Please go away, Mitt.
“Please go away, Mitt.”
Amen.
Romney is a little too slick for my taste. He reminds me of a used car salesman.
cultural comparison - like comparing Massachusetts same sex law he allowed to go on the books to the rejection of the gay agenda across the rest of the country?
Or perhaps government health care that Washington is modeling after . . Romney care, a concept rejected by an overwhelming number of americans.
Wow, following Palin. He can tell us about Romney care.
So, will there be any folks who actually camp out in the cold weather just to see Willard?
You’ll enjoy this...
Thanks for your excellent commentary.
I think Palin supporters should organize a nationwide protest effort at every Romney stop on his book tour...
A telling moment in the campaign last year was when Romney tried to out McCain on Cap and Trade in a debate in California.
I had no idea what Mitt was talking about and McCain shouted him down to the delight of the debate moderators, and they then moved on.
Well, it should be much warmer by March, but I doubt Mitt could get 50 people to line up for a signing at on a beautiful beach, on a perfect day.
I bet Sarah will end up signing more copies of “Going Rogue” than Mitt’s book sells.
Good book title.
“I’m not trying to go back to Reagan-Bush”
“I was an Independant during Reagan-Bush”
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
A new mantra of RINO Romney...
“I have ideas for Hopey Changey, Utah Style. Whata hear them??? Well, they’re so speshell it’ll cost ya. Meet My Five Sons. One of these boys will sell you a ticket.”
In addition, his book is presigned, no cost, and has $ 100 bills inserted between each page {I hope it's a big book}.
If I've missed any requirements, I'll send him an email.
I can't wait for Mitty's tour.
Monkey see, monkey do.
You know how you watch a great golfer, tennis player, baseball player, or football player and they make it look easy.
Romney just got through watching Palin’s book tour.
I think he should leave it to the professionals.
He’ll get 10% of the people she did, not a great idea when the public will be watching.
Who are the bigger sinners - Mormons who give Romney passes on liberal policies or Evangelicals who give Huckabee passes on Christian Socialism?
I would like to see Romney promote his book on Huckabee’s Fox show.
Yep, just reinforcing Palin’s role as a genuine leader.
