The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that 25% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -16. Thats the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for this President (see trends).
The 25% who Strongly Approve matches the lowest level of enthusiasm yet recorded. Thats partly the result of declining enthusiasm among Democrats. While Democrats continue to offer their approval, just 43% Strongly Approve.
Among all voters, 36% now believe that the president is doing a good or an excellent job handling the economy while 45% rate his performance in this area as poor. Seventy-one percent (71%) of Democrats say hes doing a good or excellent job on the economy while 74% of Republicans say poor. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 52% give the President poor marks when it comes to the economy.
On national security matters, 39% rate the presidents performance as good or excellent while 36% say poor. Most voters nationwide lack confidence that NATO will do its part to help in Afghanistan. The Presidents new plan for Afghanistan draws mixed reviews from voters.

Okay, so he’s at -16. But he’s still going to pass and sign Health Care, Cap and Tax, Amnesty for illegals, Card Check and Gun Control? Or, are we going to do something about it? 70% of Americans do not want any of these things passed and signed by Obama. Are we powerless to do anything? You say there’s the 2010 elections. Can we wait that long? If he gets the big 5 passed and signed into law by November, 2010, then America as we’ve known it is done for.
++++++++++++++++
Have you noticed they’re having a VERY hard time passing *anything?* If we’d sat around fretting that we are powerless, short of armed rebellion, to do anything, if we’d not Tea Partied like crazy, do you think these would have been nearly as tough to pass?
We’ve succeeded in rallying the entire nation against them, and those numbers are worsening. 11/2010 will be the day of RECKONING for all of this RAT rubbish.
We ARE doing something: grassroots activism, Tea Parties, etc. and it is WORKING! Look at his and Congress’ approval ratings.
Forgive me for being a little bit optimistic but despite the *clear* ground he’s gained in the past few months I believe that IF we continue to act then his agenda will collapse along with the dem’s control of the House and maybe even the Senate.
When that happens we can rescind all his prior progress and set this country back on it proper and successful Conservative Constitutional principles again.
++++++++++++++++
Yes, I’m in agreement here.
I hate to rain on the parade. But as much as we all wish otherwise, the Rasmussen Index doesn’t yet show what I’d call a “break out.”
That’s because not only the strongly approve number but also the strongly disapprove number have both been moving pretty consistently within four-percent “trading ranges” for the past month: The SA number has stayed in the 25-29 range, while the SD number has been consistently in the 38-42 range.
+++++++++++++++++++++
The strongly approve/disapprove gap has reversed to the tune of 44 points in 10 months...I’d say that’s a “break out” to the down side!
Uh, now that I think about it again, I might just be wrong about Obama’s fall in popularity being cause by increased atmospheric CO2. It may be that the increased atmospheric CO2 is causing Obama’s fall in popularity. Gosh, this science stuff is a lot harder than I thought! It just makes my poor ‘ol haid spin.
Hey that kind of looks like the reverse of the Mann Hockey Stick! Looks like America is definitely cooling to Zero-ama!
I guess he did enough this week, with insulting the Norwegians, Warmongering at Nobel, the 400+ billion omnibus with increased foreign aid and 4000 earmarks etc.
I live 15 miles from him. Small world!!!
YEA!! But it aint no way good enough Yet!! The stinkin MEDIA will be singing the Praises of The KENYAN MUSLIM IDIOT and TERRORIST and HATER of Anything AMERICAN even if his Rating goes to MINUS NINETY NINE ++ !!! They want to see ZERO DESTROY OUR AMERICA and Turn Her into a THIRD WORLD DICTATORSHIP!! OBOZO’S DREAM and GOAL is to Turn MOMBASSO, KENYA into the WORLD CAPITAL and HEADQUARTERS of OBOZO-EARTH!! YUK!! BEWARE AMERICA!! The Enemy is Within as Thomas Jefferson WARNED LONG AGO!!
That’s a dent from the drop in Nixon’s poll above.
And that was with 24/7 media bashing of Bush, and 24/7 media blowing of Obama.
I expected Nixon’s drop, but it’s about the same relatively as HW. HW took a massive hit from NWO, unmentioned by the press of course.
I pray everyday that the Good Lord will deliver us from this evil trap.

Agreed. But my comments were confined to the most recent 30 days.
You can’t add the value of unlike parts together and then treat it as an absolute value of the whole.
So if approximately 40% of voters are GOP then 25% of that is 10% of voters (not 25%). If Democrats are 40% of the electorate then 10% of them is 2% of voters. And 10% of independents (if they are roughly 20% of the electorate) are another 2%.
Then it turns out to be around 14% of voters not 40%. Whoops!! :)
Clinton found a way to win in 1996. We need to avoid that in 2012, or course.
Clinton did find a way to win in 1996, although he was given a mighty assist by the GOP nominating Bob Dole (let's agree to never again nominate dried up old white guys who have "earned it".)
I think 2010 will be OK, although I'm nor sure we'll win back the House or Senate...but we'll get enough to stop their train. 2012??? So far my money is going to Palin...not to the NRC.
Those of you here who know me... have seen for three months now, I have listed “Praying for -16” next to my name...
This is it...
Un, yeah. After Christmas look for layoffs to increase. Spending will decrease. The stock market will fall. Unemployment will increase and the official figures will be revised upward. Expect a bloodbath.
“If Democrats are 40% of the electorate then 10% of them is 2% of voters.”
4% actually but you get the idea.
I wonder how much of this downtrend is from the heavy-handed EPA maneuver...
——————————————————————————\
No doubt it had a factor.
They had other stats posted that said 78% favor free-market economy—wonder if that has something to do with it. Between Cap and Tax, Health Care, the EPA, capping salaries, and trying terrorists in NY, I am surprised it has taken this long to have him at -16.
He can only hide so long from his policies—his popularity is starting to wane—finally; it is about time!
Seeing his ‘royalty image” in Oslo and all his gallivanting around the globe may be taking a toll too.
