INVESTIGATIVE PROJECT.org - IPT News: "AUTHORITIES SEARCH FOR FIVE MISSING D.C.-AREA MUSLIM MEN" (SNIPPET: "Federal investigators are searching for a Howard University dental student and four other missing Muslim men reported missing from the Washington, D.C. area, the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) has learned. There is concern they may have been sent abroad to train for jihad. The five were last seen November 29. The identities of two of the missing men, Howard student Ramy Zamzam and Waqar Khan, have been mentioned in online postings, including a Facebook page that was set up Monday for friends to offer their support. Some of those pages, however, appear restricted to friends and associates. It is not clear where the men are believed to have gone, but an informed source told the IPT that at least one left behind a farewell video.") (December 8, 2009)

A U.S. born Pakastani? Wouldn’t that make him an American?

Anyway, we shan’t jump to any conclusions here. After all it’s the right wing nutjobs that are the real terrorists in this country.

PAKISTAN

SNIPPET: “ISLAMABAD: Pakistani police on Wednesday arrested five American men believed to have gone missing from the Washington, D.C. area last month, officials from both countries said. US officials say one of the missing students left what investigators call a farewell video saying Muslims must be defended.

The men were picked up in a raid on a house in Sarghoda in the eastern province of Punjab, police officer Tahir Gujjar said, adding that three of the men are of Pakistani descent, one is of Egyptian descent and the other is of Yemeni heritage.

Regional police chief Mian Javed Islam told The Associated Press that the men were between the ages of 18 and 20 and had spent the past few days in the city, which is near an air base about 125 miles south of the capital, Islamabad.

‘They are being questioned and it is premature to say whether they are involved in or planned any act of terror,’ Islam said.

But two US officials familiar with the case said the five are believed to be young men from the Washington area who went missing at the end of November.

The FBI has been searching for the men since their families reported them missing and expressed fears they may have gone to Pakistan, according to the two US officials. The two are familiar with the case and spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it publicly.

One of the men was a dental student at Howard University, according to the officials.

The officials said one of the group — they did not say which one — left behind what investigators believe was a farewell video message, in which he talks about defending Muslims and shows images of US casualties.”

I don’t know how this will end up, but it strikes me Pakistan may have just done more than our own security teams have been able to do.

Good for them, as long as it is proven these were definitely problematic individuals.

My wife and I know a Pakistani here in our area, and the guy is a good man. He goes to Pakistan from time to time to see family. I believe his daughter held a marriage reception or perhaps even a wedding there a few years back.

When I said he was Pakistani, I should have stated he was a former Pakistani, with family still over there. Ooops...

It names the five as Ahmed Abdullah, Waqar Hassan Khan, Eman Hassan, Yasir and Rami Zamzam and describes them as two Yemenis, an Egyptian, a Swede and a U.S.-born Pakistani.

DC area "residents". Open borders are wonderful. Disband homeland security, immigration, and the passport office. They are irrelevant in the modern age.

Good on CAIR for helping out, as well as their families for going straight to the authorities.

Good on Pakistan as well for fully cooperating.

In Pakistan, the government isn’t afraid to use the word “terrorist”

These 5 young men clearly had terrorist intentions and should be put away for a long time.

And more and evidence is popping up that a “fifth” column is emerging. Its much much worse then any of you can imagine here

Pakistan - Al Qaeda, Taliban targeting Pakistani nuclear sites
The Long War Journal ^ | December 11, 2007 | Rill Robbio

Excerpt -

Yesterday’s suicide bombing at the Kamra Air Force Base in Punjab was not the first strike at a nuclear weapons storage facility. After a closer look at the bases struck inside Pakistan since August, at least two more strikes occurred either on or near nuclear weapons storage facilities, based on open source information on Pakistan’s nuclear weapons programs. Since August 2007, there have been two suicide attacks at or near the Sargodha Air Force Base, a nuclear weapons and missile storage facility in central Punjab province. Other attacks in Punjab and the Northwest Frontier Province may be aimed at facilities providing regional security for Pakistan’s nuclear program.
