El Paso, Texas - A Mexican Army Humvee with a machine gun and several soldiers on foot entered into the U.S. through the Columbus Port of Entry early Saturday morning.

The incident happened at about 2:35 a.m. Saturday when the Mexican soldiers were chasing three U.S. citizens, according to Customs and Border Patrol spokesperson Roger Maier.

The group of soldiers was confronted by CBP inspectors and the soldiers quickly turned around on orders from one of their officers.

A few minutes later, a Mexican Army commander arrived and apologized to the U.S. inspectors, claiming the soldiers had been pursuing a car that ran one of their checkpoints just south of the border.

The three U.S. citizens and their vehicle were inspected by CBP and the trio was allowed to continue into the US.

Sounds like a lot of common sense in a tense situation...

Anyone remember the significance of Columbus New Mexico? 1916 Pancho Villa. Next thing was Pershing chasing the Villaistas throughout Sonora.

Time US troops started chasing all across the border. Much like Gen Pershing and 2Lt Patton in Mexico in 1915.

Pancho Villa isn’t around but I’m sure our military could find something to expedition against. Maybe not another Punitive Expedition but a Defensive Expedition.

It’s been demonstrated time and time again that Mexicans have no respect for our border. WE NEED A WALL. The sure return on that investment would be soon in coming.

Uniformed Mexican soldiers are oftentimes in the employ of the narcotraffickers and provide security for them as they travel through Mexico. It is a small leap to provide security into the U.S. also for a few miles. Happens often, and is covered up often.

Build a fence, America.

We tried but Kay Bailey Hutchinson (RINO), who's running for TX gov., put a stop to that.

The three U.S. citizens and their vehicle were inspected by CBP and the trio was allowed to continue into the US.

Used to be 'running for the border' implied a southerly direction.

“Anyone remember the significance of Columbus New Mexico?”

What is never mentioned in history classes is how the Mexicans (Villistas) had their ASSES handed to them on that day - March 9, 1916.

Funny, this isn't mentioned a whole lot. If a group of Mexicans ran one of our checkpoints, people would be saying that the machinegun should have opened upon them, killing everone onboard (that would be my view, anyway). Here, we have some STUPID Americans who pulled a stunt that should have them behind bars for years, and they are allowed to run free.

Granted, there is corruption in Mexico, and the police are as corrupt as the politicians - but when Jesus has a machinegun and asks me to stop - I'm gonna stop. Doubly so if Jesus is wearing a uniform.

This has the possiblity of turning out very, very bad - because of some STUPID Americans. The Mexicans did nothing wrong, in this instance.

The trail back to the border looked like the Via Appia after the defeat of Spartacus, minus the crosses.
