Stuart Varney was just on Fox and said Moody's will lower the United States bond rating for the first time ever in 2013 with current spending plans.

Why on earth are they announcing future plans to lower the credit rating now?
If it warrants words on a lowering, then it is probably time to lower the credit rating.

Not for nothing, but why do we still trust Moody’s to rate anything? Exactly! Why would anyone trust any of the rating agencies after all those AAA ratings for the derivatives with those worthless Fannie May and Freddie Mac mortgages tucked neatly inside?
