Seems the Italians gave her 100 years less than she deserves...unless, of course, the intend to execute her sometime during those 24 years.

"Note to self: avoid wild multi-party sex/drug orgys in Italy." I would suggest that is sage advice always, irrespective of the continent one finds themselves on. If you can't get away with it in Italy (see: Caligula), it's probably a bad idea everywhere.

If you took the Premier of Red China, the former Cabinet member James Watt; and if you could get the home run champion of Japan, Mr Oh to name his son Idun, and have them all play baseball together you could have:
Hu on First, Watt on Second, and Third Base: Idun Oh.

>>Knoxs family and friends also gave testimony on her behalf, describing her as an innocent, studious, normal girl, quite the opposite of how prosecutors had described her.<<
That line reminds me very much of the Ted Bundy situation in the early cases.

"...who harbored hate for her pretty, goody-two shoes British roommate."
Ah, now I understand. It's all the victim's fault for being a "goody-two shoes." Clearly, she made this woman feel bad and thus deserved it.

Disappointing, but not a surprise.
I’m crossing Italy off my list of places to visit.

No,the evidance is shady and circumstantial at best. I’ve been paying attn. To this and I don’t think she did it.

She was sentenced to 26, but has already been in prison for 2, so she has 24 to go.
Her parents have led a very compelling PR campaign to try to prove that the forensics were all messed up and that the investigation was crap. She changed her story several times in the first days, and that probably ultimately did her in.

That was one weird story. I wonder how much 24 years actually translates to in Europe? Eight years? Sixteen years?
Back when I was that age, I had some jerk roomies. But I don't remember thinking, "Gee, let's get drunk and stoned and kill them."

I halfheartedly followed it. Unless there was some evidence that didn’t get to the US press I’m not in the beyond reasonable doubt camp. I wasn’t on the jury though nor in the courtroom. From what I’ve seen everything was pretty circumstantial.
