The Canteen table is set so everyone gather round & share your Thanksgiving memories, what you are thankful for, recipes, menus etc & don't forget.....the first one up from the table does the dishes!:)

She asked for chicken and dumplings..
I made about 4 gallons of them.
Enough for both she and I to have them as a side dish for tomorrow.
Made 3 marble pumpkin cheese kuchen today.
Plus green beans, peas and mashed potatoes.

I was very pleased with it...not cloyingly sweet. Lot of pumpkin flavor.
Might make 3 more just for the halibut.

a lot of us must have dads that served proudly in WW2 etc....my dad did ...even my mom...statside with the nursing corp....both gone to heaven now....
what ingrates we are for allowing this to happen to our great country, the country they worked for and served....
may we all pledge to God and our country that we will not stop trying to right the ship.......in God we trust!

I’m a cooking fool.
I learned cooking for 10.
Scared the hell out of my husband the first year we were married. Bought and cooked a 24 lb turkey for just the 2 of us.
He told me...”It’s awful pretty, but what are we going to do with all of it”.
I can’t cook a little bit, it’s always over the top.
