The Palin Conundrum For Miffed Romney
CBS News ^ | November 16, 2009 | Charles Cooper

Posted on 11/16/2009 7:22:32 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

After the New England Patriots disasterous decision Sunday night not to punt on fourth down with the ball on the Indianapolis Colts' 28-yard line, former Massachusetts Governor, Mitt Romney, had every right to be ticked off. Especially considering that the Pats had the lead with little more than 2 minutes left in the game. Is it possible that the team's supposedly brilliant coach, Bill Belichick, got confused and thought the Manning brother waiting patiently on the opposing sidelines was Eli and not Peyton? Whatever the case, the Colts went on to win the game with 13 seconds left in the game.

But that fit of pique can't compare with the frustration Romney must feel watching the "All Sarah, all the time" frenzy in advance of the official launch date of Going Rogue, Sarah Palin's tell-all account of the 2008 presidential campaign. On paper, it should be a no-brainer. Here's Romney, with that ponderously impressive resume - CEO of the management consultancy Bain & Company, co-founder of private equity investment firm Bain Capital, CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Winter Olympics and governor of the Bay State from 2003 to 2007 - and yet he can't get the time of day. Maybe that will change by next year, but for the moment, north to south, east to west, the Republican faithful only have eyes for the Thriller from Wasilla.

Which is all the more fascinating because a bevy of new polls suggest that Palin's guaranteed to lose if she becomes the Republican Party's nominee in 2012. A CBS poll found that just 23% of Americans now hold a favorable view of the former Alaska Governor and two in three Americans would not like to see Palin run for president against Barack Obama.(continued)

As I have said before, I will raise at least one million dollars for Sarah, and I'm sure many of you will do all that you can.

The first sentence is wrong. Romney grew up in MI. He couldn’t care less about the Pats. Stopped reading right there.

I will never again vote for a lesser of 2 evils. I will vote on principle only.

the frustration Romney must feel

How the he!! does he know what Romney feels.
This is the liberal media trying to stir up a war among the opposition.
Romney was asked on Hannity today what he thought of Sarah. He complimented her in the most glowing terms.

Mitt was on Hannity when Sarah was on Oprah. Coincedence?

Belicheck is the only coach in the NFL who realizes that is the proper call.

I am not one of those who hates Mitt for whatever reason, indeed I respect his evident executive skills. But damn, he leaves me cold as a mackerel when it comes to entrusting him with the future of the nation.

Not sure why, but it is what it is.

Romneycare did him in. All the wannabe’s, Huckabee in particular (he’s no conservative), are fearful of her. Sarah’s doing more good for the country as a bookseller than as a governor. The elite’s party is ending, and us peasants are the turd in their punchbowl.

I don't know about where you live but where I live Oprah is on about 10 times a day so it would be hard for someone NOT to be on one show when someone else is on Oprah.

Did I say that right? Something about that sentence doesn't make any sense. Maybe a well-placed comma would've helped. Or another beer.

Oh, well. Too late now.

Yes, I was dared by someone here at FR to double it. My goal is one million, but I hope to be able to do two million dollars or more. Was able to raise $40,000 for Fred during the short time he was in the running and also did some heavy GOP fundraising back in the 1980’s.

If we can’t close the primaries to GOP only voters Mitt Romney is probably going to be the next GOP nominee.

This is scary. Your sentence made perfect sense the first time I read it. I guess I better stop drinking beer and go to bed. :-)

If that happens, it will be the first time I vote for someone else. I’ve tried really hard to think the GOP was for conservativism. Well, we aren’t buying anymore. And I’m sure many of us feel the same. Us “plug-your-nosers” are fed up. I can’t vote for a rino any more. Hopefully, 2010 will wake them up, if we lose 2010, all’s lost. I’m so disgusted with Newt. He was so forceful in 1994. Newt, what happened to you? You lost us, and now you’re trying to make a comeback with Contract 2, LOL? You should just meld away into the political commentary class. We are aching for 40-50 something politicians, we don’t need 70 has been dinosaurs.
