It’s making people buy something they don’t want to buy. IOW ... a TAX!
Every congressbilgebag that votes for this is a traitor.
AFAIK, this has always been their talking point for this objection.
Maybe, if it costs you $10,000 to $15,000 to sign up, and you have to sign up every year.
So then, in the future, depending upon income or subsidies, it could be mandatory to:
buy a car(s),
a house(s),
a health club membership,
furniture,
add your own...
Most folks have a bike and like their own, but don't want the government to take their current bike and force them to buy a government designed bike.
Some very few people have no need of a bike. Too bad, the government is now forcing everyone to buy the government issued bike.

Insurance won't work if it insures only "sick" people. Everyone that can afford it should buy insurance and if you have to threaten them it's OK with me. Poor people,temporarily unemployed and children get financial help. Besides, everyone needs it eventually since we are all mortal. And, an open nationwide market with many insurance companies participating also keeps competition high and costs low. No public option needed at all. And we need serious malpractice reform. Any Questions?

please describe to me the type of person that should not have health insurance (immortal is not a realistic answer).
People who have come to this country ILLEGALLY thereby breaking our laws. US citizens should not pay for their healthcare. They have healthcare in Mexico and other places.
Please tell me you are not one of “them”.

It ain’t okay with me though! I prefer the system the founders intended, if you don’t want health insurance you don’t buy any and if you can’t pay when you need medical care you don’t get any unless some kind physician decides to treat you pro bono. To hell with this cradle to grave government running every detail of life, that life isn’t worth living. Do you have any concept of the word FREEDOM?
For what it’s worth, the draft is also unconstitutional (per the 13th Amendment).
