Police arrested 22-year-old Abdul Walid Hamid of Hayward on the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 4, after he reportedly tore a crucifix from a person's neck and scared others at Stoneridge Shopping Center.
Hamid, an employee at a mall kiosk near Starbucks, has been charged with battery, terrorist threats and grand theft.
According to reports, Hamid was yelling "Allah is power" and "Islam is great" while holding a pen in a fist over his head. Witnesses said he shouted anti-Christian comments, said police.
Lt. Mike Elerick of the Pleasanton Police Department said the man was not provoked and didn't threaten violence, but he committed robbery when he grabbed and broke a crucifix off someone's neck.

Whenever I see one of those stupid Coexist bumper stickers on a car I see it as a warning that a total misguided idiot is behind the wheel of the vehicle. I think you're right. They've been emboldened by facing no resistance, knowing that everybody in power, all the way up to the President, is on their side, and always being excused and never facing any penalties.
I think we're going to be seeing a lot of this kind of thing now.

That Abdul was initially placed in a psychiatric facility for 'observation' instead of a jail cell and couldn't speak English but knew enough to ask for a taxpayer-paid attorney reminds us of how ineffective our justice system really is when it comes to keeping Americans safe from homegrown Islamic terrorism as well as homegrown wannabe Islamic terrorists such as this Abdul guy in a California mall screaming about Islam.
Abdul Hamid will probably use the 'temporary insanity' plea and because he didn't really hurt, much less, kill anyone, it'll be reduced to some meaningless misdemeanor charge, he'll get probation (and promise to take anger management classes) and the whole thing will be quickly buried by the local media. Until the next anti-Christian, anti-American outburst (hopefully, not conducted with firearms) committed by yet another home-grown Islamic terrorist that we never saw coming....and what if we did?
Media-driven PC insanity and the leftmedia's constant hand-wringing over the 'safety' of 'innocent, law-abiding Muslims' trumps any real sanction against even the most outrageous signals of Muslim terrorist wannabes, like army Major Nidal Malik Hasan.
Hasen, as we now know, issued anti-American rants and engaged in what should have been distinctly suspicious behavior for an army officer but was carefully ignored because too many people didn't want to upset the 'diversity is strength' meme that apparently even the U.S. army has now embraced, to the fatal detriment of 13 lives that were snuffed out in an instant by a True Believer in Islam seeking to please 'Allah'.
The army should have acted to, at the least, cashier this rogue officer out of the service as soon as he made it known that that he wanted out and hated the country that educated him and gave him a good life while he enjoyed living in a country a thousand times freer than places in the world where his religion strictly controls everyone - and woe to you if you're unlucky enough to be born female.
But, no, they couldn't do anything that might smack of 'Islamophobia', which, in this case, seems to be defined as recognizing and responding to a U.S. military officer who is a Muslim raging against America and 'infidels'. So, PC won the day and 13 people (12 of them U.S. soldiers) died, instantly, to appease Hasen's 'Allah'. This PC insanity cannot continue.

Being that not only Catholics, but also Eastern Orthodox, Coptic, and some Protestants also sometimes use crucifixes in their public worship; the generic anti-Christian is probably plenty accurate.
The bottom line is that this hate crime is directed at Christianity.
