2 dead, 2 hurt in Tualatin workplace shooting

PORTLAND, Ore. -- A shooting has been reported and confirmed at a Tualatin strip mall, police said.

Few details were available. According to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, there may be as many as 10 victims.

The shooting was reported at 7575 SW Mohawk at the Martinazzi intersection.

Police first confirmed that a shooting had occurred sometime after 11 a.m.

SNIPPET: “TUALATIN — A gunman who opened fire with a rifle at a drug-testing clinic today killed one woman and injured several other people before apparently fatally shooting himself, authorities said.

Tualatin police reported the shooting at about 11:48 a.m. at Legacy MetroLab-Tualatin in the 7500 block of Southwest Mohawk Street. The gunman fired several shots inside and outside of the clinic, police said.

Tualatin Police Chief Kent Barker said the gunman’s body was found inside the clinic, and said his wounds were apparently self-inflicted. He said one woman was found dead. A 63-year-old man was flown by air ambulance to OHSU Hospital in Portland, while a 20-year-old woman was sent by ground ambulance to Legacy Emanuel Hospital.

Barker said officers were on scene within two minutes of the first call. He would not identify the gunman or the victim, but said it appeared there was a relationship between them. The victim was an employee of the clinic, he said, as were the two other people injured.”

The woman, who worked at the clinic, had an unspecified relationship with the gunman, Barker said.

Maybe a jealous boyfriend, then. Until I read that, I thought maybe a crazy drug addict.
