This speech just leaves me empty...it is very dull. He doesn't feel it

Y'all pegged it. No depth to his words. Creepy.

The “Amazing Grace” singer got a better round of applause than Obama’s speech.

Would you like to add some positive comments to this thread, since you are feeling sensitive to our comments?

We have great sympathy for the families of the murdered and wounded troops, and for everyone connected with Fort Hood. Our sympathy extends to the wish that there was a different CinC there today to participate in helping with the healing of their souls.

I thought he had said so as well, but probably misheard it. Unless he deviated from his speech, here is the text of the prepared remarks.

“For history is filled with heroes. You may remember the stories of a grandfather who marched across Europe; an uncle who fought in Vietnam; a sister who served in the Gulf. But as we honor the many generations who have served, I think all of us - every single American - must acknowledge that this generation has more than proved itself the equal of those who have come before.”

Bush being late was a rare exception to the rule; he was notoriously fastidious about punctuality

BO is always late and genuinely doesn’t care if he’s late

Just stating facts — others can judge their relative importance

I can’t believe I am standing up for the POS
but he actually said grandfather who served in europe or uncle in Nam, a brother in gulf war etc etc

so he tried to make it semi genric.

It was a dull speech that made it plain he felt NOTHING

TOTUS........one day he will wake up and realize the presidency isn’t about reading speeches. I pray America sees through him soon.

Thanks for a reminder of a true act of compassion. I believe Bush anguished over every soldier we lost and really understood the weight of the decisions he made without regard to political consequences.

He won’t call him a terrorist, because if he does, it would be the first terrorist attack since 9/11..and it would be on HIS hands because it happened on HIS watch

That's a good point. No wonder they're trying so hard to not call it what it is.
