Just had the 218th vote, which is what they need to psas th ebill
Let us hope that he remembers that when history comes calling at his door.
Thanks for pointing me to that!
Oh sure. Go ahead and try to starve the beast, while they continue to laugh their @sses off at us conservatives and every lame attempt we make to thwart them. If we’re lucky, we may kill a few of them off when they choke to death from laughing so hard.
++++++++++++
Do you think they’re laughing at NJ and VA?
Do you think they’re laughing at 10.2 U3 UR and 17.6 U6 UR?
Do you think they’re laughing at 20-70 Congressional approval and underwater approval for this thick socialist bill?

If/when this massive healthcare bs passes the senate, you will learn what the word slavery really means.
++++++++++++
Nothing like this will pass the Senate.

I’m telling you, this commie takeover was well planned and plotted for a LONG time. They have anticipated any moves we might make and have planned accordingly.
++++++++++++
They are not omnipotent and omniscient, nor can they destroy us in one or two years - despite how they may be trying to do so. They aren’t even as entreprenuerial and clever as most in the Conservative movement and on the right have by our very nature been or learned to be. We will fight back - and we ARE fighting back.
Don’t be utterly dejected. Continue to fight!

Wake up and smell the reality. The first rule is: Never underestimate your opponent...Wait and tarry at your own peril.
++++++++++++++++
I personally have been involved in about a dozen public events since 4/15 and I know that 10s of thousands of Freepers are doing the same. Although quite involved politically before this era - I’m more involved now - simply for the reason that I’m not underestimating this foe.
Do not confuse encouragement for the fight, with underestimating the foe.
the what to do now goes way beyond just flopping the power over to the same old Repubs that let us down every time. No more McCainism, Grahamism, Trent Lottism, etc.
+++++++++++++++
What about more Reaganism and Contract with Americanism? Yes, we need to reform the Republican party. That is what happened in NY 23 and that is what will happen in many other places also.
***********************
If they could go up against the Clinton machine and win, this can give us a reason to have faith that someone can go up against the Rhino machine and win. They were able to turn a mostly moderate and inert dem party into a super liberal party in one or two cycles. Why cant we turn a moderately liberal GOP into super conservative party in one or two cycles?
++++++++++++++
I like it! Let’s roll!
That, plus the fact that under Obama Deathcare, many of us babyboomers will be conveniently killed off with their death panels and rationing of treatment.
++++++++++++++
Do you really think anything like HR 3962 will pass the Senate? Only if we let it.
Do you think 50 million illegals will suddenly become legal after this MASSIVE fight for the health care system stretches well into next year? Only if we let it happen.
We have a MASSIVE say in these matters.
Elections matter.
So do STUPID, ASSANINE bills matter. They matter to elections. 2010 is our time.
Let’s make *that* happen.
But with McCain, amnesty would probably have been already signed, along with porkulus, so really, would he have been any better at this point?
++++++++++++++
Kind of hard to say, and I’ve heard good arguments on both sides. As to health care though, we certainly wouldn’t be this far down the road with only the thin safety net of the Senate in the balance.
Let’s not forget what Lenin said: “medicine is the keystone in the arch of socialism.
Also bammy coat-tails wouldn’t have made the current makeup in the Congress so lopsided if McCain had run a better campaign.
But all that’s water under the bridge. We are here. And here we must STAND and FIGHT.
Im angry. Do you think that the men meeting in taverns and churches angry about British taxes were fatalistic and whining? You remind me of Dickinson of Pennsylvania who wanted to continue trying reconcilliation rather than revolution.
++++++++++++++++
In an age of modern warfare - with the *most* modern of forces at the socialists disposal currently - what our Founding Fathers pondered and what you seem to be pondering are COMPLETELY different animals (although granted it would be interesting to see if something like what happened to Yeltsin with major parts of the army defecting the communists, would happen here).
“COMPLETELY different animals” —> Do you not agree?
Is that hard for you to understand? she was basically kicked out of the party thus was very angry...and took what revenge she could. If you look at the races won by the GOP-governors races-both candidates ran as moderates and neither asked for Sarah Palin to campaign for them. The governor of Virginia is a true conservative, but he ran from the center. Not all districts will elect a rock solid conservative. This is a fact. Many on these threads know that I am against the purification process in the Repub party and believe it could severely damage the party. We have a real chance in 2010. Lets field good candidates for these districts-candidates who can win-this is the lesson from New York 23.
Bill Owens campaigned on this; he was always for health care...no Scozzafava would not have voted for health care as she is a fiscal conservative. The reality is had the election proceeded without Hoffman and all the drama, health care might have been stopped...impossible to tell because some of the Dems who voted against it were allowed to after getting enough votes to pass it...sad day.
+++++++++++++++
So w/o NY 23 they would have passed it 219 to 216. Or just had one more Blue Dog fall on his canard. Electing Scozzafava just for *that* weak result would have been bad for Conservatives and the GOP.
We need to drag this out in the Senate until March, May, November...
Lets field good candidates for these districts-candidates who can win
+++++++++++++++++
For example, candidates who are not more liberal than their Democrat opponents in the district? You can’t run on fiscal restraint alone or you’re just a pro-abortion, pro-special rights for gays, blue dog RAT, in GOP sheeps clothing. IMHO, the GOP screwed up with Scozzafava - plain and simple.
That’s what AP and the rest of the liberal media would like us to believe. We need to keep the pressure up as though our lives depended on it because, in this case, they do!
Keep’em crossed(fingers)
