Notice on that transcript that they’ve already corrected a gaffe Obama made. He called Joe Medicine Crow a “Congressional Medal of Honor winner”...in reality, Joseph Medicine Crow won the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He did serve in the military (103rd Infantry Division, WW II) and won a Bronze Star for it. But not a MOH. Positively a Biden-esque moment.

My therapist said that it was the equivalent to the Israeli Prime minister saying “I just want to give a shout out to my peeps!”. She was on the money with that one. It was inappropriate for the tragedy at hand, and the leader of a nation should have more decorum.

Agreed. His most intimate circle includes no one who could even by stretching the term be described as “patriotic” regarding the USA. 50 years ago, none of them would have been able to obtain sufficient security clearance to mow the White House lawn! Disgusting!!!

Absolutely positively unbelievable. You would expect a normal human being to speak from the heart in such a situation, but Obama kept looking down at some notecard someone had given him. He couldn’t even say “Ft. Hood” without reading it off the card first.
I noticed even Fox News in a report from the WH (by Major Garrett, twice) characterized it as the beginning of his remarks. I saw the live version, unedited, and he did his prepared remarks first, including the shout-out, and only at the end, did he mention Fort Hood.....
