Republican Dede Scozzafava endorsed her former Democratic opponent Sunday in the race for an upstate New York congressional seat, one day after Scozzafava dropped out of the contest.
Scozzafava dropped out after Conservative Party candidate Dough Hoffman experienced a late-in-the-game surge. But on Sunday, Scozzafava backed Democrat Bill Owens -- the announcement was made in a statement send out by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
"I am supporting Bill Owens for Congress and urge you to do the same," she said. "In Bill Owens, I see a sense of duty and integrity that will guide him beyond political partisanship. He will be an independent voice devoted to doing what is right for New York. Bill understands this district and its people, and when he represents us in Congress he will put our interests first."

The positive outcome is this: in Hoffman, the GOP has gained a conservative Republican who has never left the party and who will be representing conservatives, and caucusing with like-minded Republicans in Congress. The effect of Hoffman's election will have repercussion on the nation level, and sends a tremendous message to the GOP to take the party back to its conservative principles set forth by Ronald Reagan, just as Hoffman has said many times.
All in all, not bad, not bad at all.

"The biggest mistake Reagan made was to choose Bush, (the GOP party choice,) as his VP."While a monumental mistake, granted.
I wouldn't really be so sure RR had a choice, as you implied. The GOP was then what we see, today.
Some things never change. LOL

Hannity will call him his “good buddy”. Newtus Agustus will give some lame excuse and then on with the Sean Hannity show, as usual.

No one should be surprised that this woman........a DEMOCRAT..........should endorse the DEMOCRAT.
Most Republicans are conservative people. IMO, they will take this "endorsement" for what it's worth (nothing) and vote for Hoffman.
I don't think it hurts him at all.
(Time for more donations??..... PUNCH the RED BUTTON )

Well, if this does not show the idiocy of Gingrich and the GOP, I don’t know what will... I would guess that this will not effect the race much but does show just what the GOP leaders that backed her stand for - not much of anything except getting elected and back in power!
I say this is a good thing - showing up the GOP for what they are, WHORES all of them... Vote for Conservatives or don’t vote.

Hoffman simply saw that and ran against her. After he broke his support pledge. Now she's betraying the party as well.
Wretched all the way around.

What this means is that the party must be taken back or taken over by real conservatives because the Dems are going to run as republicans and the leadership will let it happen if they people let them. This is actually a good start.

The difference is, Hoffman was and always did hold on to what the party was supposed to actually stand for. She never did.
Why don't you understnad that?

Still and all, I see Dedes endorsement as a good thing I don't see the possibility of another Democrat opponent of the 2nd Amendment in Congress as a good thing.
