Republican Dede Scozzafava endorsed her former Democratic opponent Sunday in the race for an upstate New York congressional seat, one day after Scozzafava dropped out of the contest.
Scozzafava dropped out after Conservative Party candidate Dough Hoffman experienced a late-in-the-game surge. But on Sunday, Scozzafava backed Democrat Bill Owens -- the announcement was made in a statement send out by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
"I am supporting Bill Owens for Congress and urge you to do the same," she said. "In Bill Owens, I see a sense of duty and integrity that will guide him beyond political partisanship. He will be an independent voice devoted to doing what is right for New York. Bill understands this district and its people, and when he represents us in Congress he will put our interests first."

Witch. Now I look stupid for figuring yesterday she wouldn’t! Doh.
Next job for NY Republicans, don’t let this slag get renominated/reelected in 2010 for the Assembly.
I demand a public apology to the people of the United States from
A)The GOP county bosses who picked her
B)The NRCC/RNC
C)Newt
D)Pete King
Your girl’s a rat you ignorant boobs (since you missed the first clue being a few months ago when she publicly considered running for the seat as a rat). Go ahead and find something nice to say about her now.

Oh my, indeed. The mask is off, and the battle lines are drawn. In far too many areas of this nation, it’s citizens are represented not by two parties, but by one.
Time to take out the trash, regardless of which letter is next to their name.

Hey Newt, as a former fan of yours would like to suggest a warm bath tub of water and a razor blade for you. You are finished as any kind of leader. Keep kissing Hannity’s @$$ because that’s the only gig you’ll ever get.

In her statement Friday announcing suspension of her campaign Scozzafava said “I am and have always been a proud Republican. It is my hope that with my actions today, my party will emerge stronger ...”
Well, today she’s outnewted Newt.

Steele should be fired not because this woman is a turn coat, they should be fired because they purposefully ensured that this canidate was hand picked and told conservatives couldn’t win in this district.
Liars Thieves Usurpers.
We need someone that will ensure that the selection of candidates is legit and not driven by liberal GOP Agents. We need a party chief that will purge the GOP of those that would purposefully deny access to the candidate selection process to conservatives.
I don’t have a problem if the local GOP Party had legitimately selected this candidate, the point is they didn’t and Steele let them get away with it.

This piece of garbage Scozzafava was nothing more than another RINO and now we can all get to see it. I am SOOOO SICK of the GOP. How stupid and moronic can these imbiciles be??? What an embarrassing disgrace. I am one person who is completely done with these idiots. NO MORE COINTRIBUTIONS TO THE GOP FROM ME. I have had it.

I knew this wouldn’t end well.
People yesterday thought this meant Hoffman would win.
Nonsense.
When the lefty liberal leaves, they support THE DEMOCRAT.
They do not support the conservative, and anybody that thinks they would is silly.
Hoffman has lost.

She let her bitterness get in the way of doing what was best for her district. The DNC probably promised her the moon to do this. I wouldnt be surprised if the Zero himself called her.
From Politico,
Scozzafava endorses Owens
.........................
Scozzafavas decision comes one day after she abruptly suspended her campaign -- and since then, the White House had been persuading her to come out in support of Owens. In addition, New York Democratic sources tell POLITICO that Attorney General Andrew Cuomo also played a role in convincing Scozzafava to endorse Owens.
Owens needs to win over the lion's share of her moderate backers to have a shot at defeating Hoffman, the new GOP-backed candidate with strong support from the conservative grassroots. Her labor supporters are working to get out the vote for Owens.
Scozzafava's husband Ron McDougall, a leading labor official in upstate New York who works closely with New York Democrats, sent an e-mail out Saturday night offering enthusiastic support for Owens candidacy.
"She still has a base in her assembly district and could swing this race to Owens," said one senior New York Republican operative. "Now she is the spoiler."
Another person involved with the race said that Scozzafava never considered backing Hoffman in the race, and the only question after she suspended her campaign was whether she'd publicly endorse Owens. ......................

What we need to know is - who were the ten or so members of the NY State RNC that chose her to run as the candidate instead of Hoffman.
