The headline in Investors Business Daily, Sept. 16, 2009: 45% of Doctors Would Consider Quitting If Congress Passes Health Care Overhaul.
The headline in the Boston Globe, Sept. 28, 2009: States risk it, raise tax on rich.
The problem with four of nine U.S. doctors saying they would consider leaving their practice or taking an early retirement is that the number of doctors is already lagging population growth, reports IBD.
Add millions of new patients to a shrinking supply of doctors and the obvious result is an English-style queue, longer waits in pain, and a centrally directed rationing of service.
That Boston Globe article on soaking the rich explains that New Yorks increased confiscation of income from the deep-pocketed rich through higher taxes is producing a millionaires exit.
Said New Yorks lieutenant governor, Richard Ravitch, regarding the flight of the states millionaires and the decline in government revenues that has already occurred as a result of the higher tax rates: People arent wedded to a geographic place as they once were.
In Atlas Shrugged, a novel by Ayn Rand, the most productive and creative citizens in the United States -- the innovators, risk-takers, artists, entrepreneurs, capitalists, intellectuals, industrialists -- overturn the conventional concept of victimhood and go on strike, refusing any longer to be exploited by society, refusing to be demonized as too successful, too rich, too individualistic, too free.
Led by John Galt, the novels hero, the industrious organize a strike against the ever-expanding yoke of government coercion. They strike to halt the murder of mans spirit, to halt the confiscation of mans work, to defend individualism, reason, liberty, human achievement and the market economy.

The “new” doctors will first be trained in Abortion and Euthanasia. You know, the important stuff.
“Comrade Medical Officer, we are Red partisans, and we SHOOT deserters!” - Doctor Zhivago
Even the lackeys at DU assume they’ll be the ones guarding the concentration camps.
Another point noone is talking about is that when all these docs retire their staffs will be in the unemployment lines as well. If we were trying to practice with the new guidelines our payroll, benefits, charitable contributions and taxes would exceed our income. Noone can live it they work at a loss.
If this is passed, can you imagine the quality of future doctors that will make it into and out of med school based on politics rather than merit?
Within six months of implementation of this we will have a massive doctor shortage.
Why go into debt several hundred thousand dollars when the government won’t let you earn enough money to pay it back, and then heavily tax what you do earn so that you will be hopelessly in the hole?
Have you seen the ABC trailers for the new version of "V"? The parallels to the bozos infesting the Executive Branch of our government are almost chilling. I wonder if Lord TOTUS will find a way to keep this show off the air, for fear people might see it as the veiled documentary it could be!
Every elitist, from the president on down to the stinkinest hemp stench ridden junior college student sees himself as
“holding the whip”.
And, just as in “Atlas”,
they, the providers of the resource, will be portrayed as selfish and greedy.
Seems to me, once you've obtained the necessary education, licensing should be voluntary, like joining the BBB. It's a stamp of approval and helpful to those who want to purchase your services, but not a requirement for you to do business.
Licensing is just another way to take more money from us. It's not about protecting the consumer/patient. If you screw up, lawyers and even law enforcement will come after you whether we have license requirements or don't have them, so who is really being protected?
"Hi, Every-body!"
How many Orthopedic surgeons (do you think) have made millions of dollars in California running a workers comp scheme?
~~PING!
Thousands of freight cars will run 24/7 carrying the bodies of dead Democrats to mass unmarked government graves who will die because of their crappy lifestyle choices and sheer adaptive unsuitability isn't being counter-acted by the best private sector health care system in the world.
People don’t leave the United States. No matter what kind of marxist hell-hole Obama turns it into, the rest of the world will decline as we decline. Their economies are all tied to ours. As America loses its freedom, the dictators of the world will rise up as we stop being the World’s Policeman. The future of individual liberty for humans dies with the US Constitution.
The foreign doctors may leave because they’d rather be slaves to their own people than to Obama’s followers.
That won’t happen.
The whole point of a government controlled healthcare system is so that leftists can deny their ideological opponents the care they need to live,
and to reward their ideological allies.
In general, this is the whole point of socialism, for the elites to be able to reward or punish by giving or withholding basic necessities to people based on their support for and deference to the ruling class.
Black market doctors will be needed....
>>Have you seen the ABC trailers for the new version of “V”?
The one with the Vistor woman speaking? It sounds like an Obama campaign commercial. I can’t imagine this show being allowed to be shown in the Obamanation...unless there is plot twist and the Vistors really are good aliens whoa rrive on Earth to rid it of the evil, polluting capitalists and “sky fairy worshippers”.
