Good evening, Kathy! Good evening, all!

I'll be enjoying the day off tomorrow -- unless I have to take a train all the way uptown to go to an Open House at a "local" high school.

Freep mail me to be on or off the Daily Bread ping list

Details, Details
In everything give thanks. —1 Thessalonians 5:18

Details make a difference. Ask the man from Germany who planned to visit his fiancée for Christmas but ended up in snowy Sidney, Montana, instead of sunny Sydney, Australia.

Prepositions in our language seem like insignificant details, but they can make a big difference. The words “in” and “for” are an example.

The apostle Paul wrote, “In everything give thanks” (1 Thess. 5:18). That doesn’t mean we have to be thankful for everything. We need not be thankful for the bad choices someone makes, but we can be thankful in the circumstances because the Lord can use the resulting difficulties for good.

The letter to Philemon illustrates this idea. Paul was imprisoned with Onesimus, a runaway slave. He certainly didn’t have to give thanks for his bad situation. Yet his letter is full of gratitude because he knew that God was using it for good. Onesimus had become something more than a slave; he was now a beloved brother in the Lord (v.16).

Knowing that God can use all things for good is more than enough reason to give thanks in everything. Giving thanks in difficult circumstances is a small detail that makes a big difference.

Father, thank You that in every trial, challenge, and difficulty, You are behind the scenes working things out for our good. Help us to see Your hand in everything. Amen.

God has not promised to keep us from life’s storms, but He will keep us through them.

Good Morning everyone! My Son- in Law was KIA in Iraq in Sept. I wrote this for my daughter (an MP) and my grandson, born on memorial day 2009.
If I could, I would, Take Tom Lyons place
That his life could be spared, so it could be shared
With my beloved Delvin & Erik
O how I ache to turn back the days, Pack my bags and take Tom’s place.
I would not hesitate to spill every drop of my blood, to suffer & die
so my children would not cry
My heart breaks loudest for
My sweet children, I adore.
So completely I understand
Why Christ would die for Me, Amen.

Good morning, Everyone. Good morning to our

AWESOME

Military, our Allies, and their families.

THANK YOU for all you do.

Thank you, Star, for preparing the Canteen for today’s activities.

DC Metroland weather report

~ Today...Generally cloudy. High 62F. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph.

~ Tonight...Overcast. Low 53F. Winds light and variable.

Brrrr, chilly this morning. Guess it won't be long before we'll have to turn on some heat.

It's Monday and I'm back. Still at home today. I have a dental appointment later this morning, so I'll be here for a bit.

We had a nice weekend here. I've had a nice 4-day and don't want to have to go back to work in the morning. But, it pays the bills.

I'm expecting a phone call on the kitchen estimate. I hope it's not too much of a shock to my wallet cause I'm really looking forward to having a new counter and getting the kitchen painted.

Guess I'll start my rounds. But, you stay right where you are. Don't touch that dial. Don't change that channel. Put down that remote. Don't leave the room. Keep your eyes on your monitor. Cause...............I'll be bock!

Now remember, the Canteen is ALWAYS

Come on in and sit for a while.
There's always plenty of coffee, pancakes, conversation, silliness,
and plain old BS

REMEMBER THEM

DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM

FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT

Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allied military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before.
