After visiting Tegucigalpa last week and meeting with a cross section of leaders from Honduras's government, business community, and civil society, I can report there is no chaos there. There is, however, chaos to spare in the Obama administration's policy toward our poor and loyal allies in Honduras. In a day packed with meetings, we met only one person in Honduras who opposed Mr. Zelaya's ouster, who wishes his return, and who mystifyingly rejects the legitimacy of the November elections: U.S. Ambassador Hugo Llorens.

Thanks, StarFan.
I’d like to see the tortured reasoning of the Koh memo, if there even is one.
Going overseas and intefering in US foreign policy. I disagree with Obama’s views and actions as much as the next guy, but what is the limit for the loyal opposition? I honestly wonder.
That will be the eventual solution of this mess — blanket immunity.
&&&&
That is the way leftists always resolve “messy” situations. “Yes, we did wrong, and we won’t do it again. We will craft some new ‘ethics guidelines’, and wipe the slate clean.
However —— when Republicans are caught in a questionable ethical action, it’s hysteria until said Republican has been banished.
Aren’t Congressmen supposed to go on ‘fact-finding missions?’
BTW, Honduras is in our hemisphere,in the part of our continent that President Reagan worked so hard to keep out of the clutches of foreign communist regimes.
The Monroe Doctrine should still apply today!

Yes Kerry tried to stop the trip- there was a FR thread on that on Boston Globe article from last Saturday.
Yes this is great news here, really great...has made my day!
LOL! Yeah, with the obama crowd.
All right...I’ll bite:
What makes this situation so untenable that the United States of America, formerly steadfast ally of representative democracies world wide and stalwart foe of dictators, should support Zelaya?
If Obama sees nothing wrong in pressuring the Honduran people to abdicate their constitutional protections in favor of a dictator, then he probably sees no impediment to sacrificing our constitutional sovereignty in favor of international governance and law. Everything he does plays to the international community.
While Jim DeMint is accurate in his analysis, my question is “What’s new Jim?”. WSJ writer Mary Anastasia O’Grady has done an outstanding job of reporting and analyzing the situation in Honduras from day 1.
The only real question remaining is why the Obama adminstration is taking position it is taking. Perhaps Obama hopes to find himself in a circle, arm-in-arm, hand-in-hand, cheek-to-cheek, with his fellow jerks, Hugo Chávez, Daniel Ortega and the Castro brothers.
This is from a similar article on Hot Air:
"Zelayas own party had already nominated someone else to run in that election, and that candidate and party want the elections to proceed."
That article also alluded to Obama administration wanting to suppress Harold Koh's legal opinion. This is all the more reason to demand transparency.

More like DeMint *schools* Kerry over Honduras.

Thanks for the clarification. Wasn't sure on the wording. Now we know what the Nobel PEACE Prize is all about. . . Love that photo!
Damn right! Alinsky back at em'! These folks are communists, anarchists, revolutionaires - they walk around with Che T shirts on. They're either brain dead, brainwashed or cultists - but they're there and They fight dirty - "no quarter" - we need to jump in the frey as if it's War. We are in a Cold War with Obama and his cronies for the very survival of our nation as we used to know it. By the way, if any of you missed it, a must read article by Krauthammer, Decline is a Choice
The Krautman hammers it home again. Every American should read this article and Think. . . Think of the consequences if we do nothing. .
Interesting. Which Constitutional Article will prevail. We will have to wait and see, but I am disgusted that our current Administration always sides with the politician who prefers the anti-democratic style of Ruling! - not governing.
DeMint has proven to be the REAL thing. He must feel pretty lonely out there by himself.
I met him in DC last Sept 12th and thanked him for his help with the Marine Recruiting Center in Berkeley that codepink and the city of Berkeley were trying to shut down.
Sen. DeMint threatened to cut off federal funds to Berkeley if they continued on their path of closing down the Center.
I like the way he circumvented Kerry's pathetic attempt to stop him from going by getting a plane from the Pentagon.
