Jim DeMint -What I Heard in Honduras
WSJ ^ | October 10, 2009 | Jim DeMint

Posted on 10/09/2009 6:57:13 PM PDT by opentalk

After visiting Tegucigalpa last week and meeting with a cross section of leaders from Honduras's government, business community, and civil society, I can report there is no chaos there. There is, however, chaos to spare in the Obama administration's policy toward our poor and loyal allies in Honduras. In a day packed with meetings, we met only one person in Honduras who opposed Mr. Zelaya's ouster, who wishes his return, and who mystifyingly rejects the legitimacy of the November elections: U.S. Ambassador Hugo Llorens.

Um....Mr. Koh works for US! Zero is clearly trying to disempower Congress (not that it’s necessarily a bad thing with this bunch in power right now) but remember that if and when our guys take over next year, this will NOT be a good thing.

Koh is another freaky socialist one-worlder who wants us to adopt international law and move away from the Constitution.

Does Zero have anyone sane in this administration? No!

from the article: “Hondurans are therefore left scratching their heads. They know why Hugo Chávez, Daniel Ortega and the Castro brothers oppose free elections and the removal of would-be dictators, but they can’t understand why the Obama administration does.”

Why must we play pin the tail on the donkey? We know why the black radical Marxist in the White House is siding with Castro, Chavez, and Ortega and why he is harming the US and our allies as best he can.

The guy attended the god damn america church for twenty years, he is beholden to the American communist domestic enemy and has filled the white house with trashey radical czars, he does all he can to empower election fraud through ACORN street thugs just like Chavez, Ortega, and the Catros. He is aiding and abetting all of our enemies and harming all of our allies as best he can. He is trying to bring jihadists captured in battle to the streets of the US.

It is perfectly clear why Obama and his minions are harming Honduros and aiding and abetting an comrade.

Add in the current movement to ditch the dollar. This is moving fast. I hope DeMint can get Koh's State Department report made public

Is Demint setting himself up for a run at president?

At this point, I like him so it wouldn’t be a bad think in my opinion.

The Obama Administration is on the side of Hugo Chavez on this one - just like on almost everything else.

Let's face it. The enemies of America now run America!

"Hey, Obama has just nationalized nothing more and nothing less than General Motors. Comrade Obama! Fidel, careful or we are going to end up to his right!" - Hugo Chavez

DeMint traveled to Tegucigalpa where he met with people hand-picked by Micheletti and company.

And you know this how?

The Honduras situation is a massive crack in the foundation of the Obama administration. If need be cries of impeachment should be made in the senate to force a wedge into that crack as the independents will demand to know all the facts of WHY conservatives feel this is grounds for impeachment. The media won’t be able to keep up the charade under those circumstances.

"a mistake in search of a rationale."

What a great line that describes the entire administration's policy.

Socialism no longer carries the stigma it once did...

Not true. It still carries a great stigma today. Obama and his minions on the left go into cranial detonation every time someone from our side accuses them of being Socialist.

Socialism, Marxism, Communism, Fascism, Statism, are all fingers on the same iron fist of leftist oppression. One can draw scholarly distinctions between them, but they all have one thing in common, and that is the elevation of the rights of the state over those of the individual.

The breed of leftists that are causing the greatest amount of trouble for us now, can most accurately be defined as Socialists. They're not quite Communists, because they're not advocating for a total overthrow of individual rights, free markets, property ownership, or capitalism. They just want the government to have the power to tax the people and industry at European Nanny State levels. That's Socialism.

I'll continue to call them what they are until it hurts. The left in America left the old Democrat party long ago, but have continued to hide behind its mantle. It's time we stopped letting them get away with it.

Maybe this article should be sent to Norway. The Nobel Committee in Particular

I think those people would be best ignored. Their silly prize has meant little for at least 20 years, and now it is a complete laughingstock. It will never again be what it was, say, 40 years ago.

Much appreciated, Lancey. Me and Just A Nobody may disagree on the exact terms, but we’re definitely in agreement on the fact that we need to stop aiding and abetting the left’s charade.

While we’re at it, we should consider applying the same standard to wayward Republicans, too. People like Olympia Snowe have proven themselves to be just as Socialist as the “Democrats” they purport to oppose. She, and others like her should be assigned the label they’ve earned.

I often think of some of the old-time Democrats, guys like Sam Nunn, Bob Casey, Sr., Hubert Humphrey, Lloyd Benson, John Stennis, Henry Jackson, and others, and wonder if any of them would have the guts to try to take back their party if they were in office today. The only one I am aware of who has stood up and said, “Enough!” is Zell Miller. Maybe Joe Lieberman, too.

And while I agree with your note about subtle distinctions, I have always viewed “socialism” as a political weasel-word for “communism”, much like “falsehood” is a political weenie-word for “lie”. Where, but among the scumbag political class, have you ever heard anybody use the word “falsehood”?

I often think of some of the old-time Democrats....and wonder if any of them would have the guts to try to take back their party if they were in office today.

It's been stated here many times, that the old guard Democrats of yesteryear would probably do a Reagan, and join with the conservatives, if they were alive today.

What's sad, is that the formerly patriotic Democrat party has been successfully infiltrated and wholly consumed by leftists, who are bent on remaking America into a Socialist/Marxist nation.

What's even sadder, is that these leftists have also successfully convinced half of our population that they're something that they're not. They call themselves "Democrats", but they're really leftists of the Marxist stripe.

The "useful idiots" who vote for them think that they're voting for "Democrats", and a "Democratic" agenda, when in fact, they're supporting the wholesale destruction of the very foundations of our nation.
