Precise details of what transpired in Washington during the first week of the Yom Kippur War, launched by Egypt and Syria on October 6, 1973, are hard to come by, in no small measure owing to conflicting accounts given by Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and Secretary of Defense James Schlesinger regarding their respective roles.
What is clear, from the preponderance of information provided by those directly involved in the unfolding events, is that President Richard Nixon overriding inter-administration objections and bureaucratic inertia implemented a breathtaking transfer of arms, code-named Operation Nickel Grass, that over a four-week period involved hundreds of jumbo U.S. military aircraft delivering more than 22,000 tons of armaments.

Israel would have executed the Sampson Option if they lost. That is nuking the enemy and taking them down with them. There are suspicions that since Russia was the major supplier of arms to the Arabs that they were also on the Sampson List. Israel of course could not defeat Russia but could inflict great damage on a few major cities.
We were very close to world wide nuclear exchange at that time. It would have been ugly, very ugly.
Dig him up, I’d vote for him again. Hell of a better President, than current one.
His policies and the people of Vietnam were sabotaged by the Communists in big media and the colleges.
Communism must be a religion because its adherents constantly sacrifice truth, freedom, and millions of people's lives to its false gods.
In my book Richard M Nixon did quite a few things right. I went into the military when while LBJ was President but thank God Nixon was president while I was off the coast of Viet Nam.
The things that Nixon did and was accused of doing pale compared to what is happening in the current adminstration.

I agree with all that.
But one thing he gave us that has turned out to be an insatiable White Elephant is the EPA.
I would guess the G-Man’s book is the best - he was there and Dean, who has threatened to sue Liddy, has never challenged him legally.
I'm sure 0bama could show the same resolve - if he were talking about photographers.
I thought Bernstein would have a heart attack. He jumped up screaming that, "You can never subtract Watergate!! Its the most important event of the 20th century!!!! And Richard Nixon was EVIL!!!"
The media will never allow a true assessment of Nixon. He was an anti-Communist, therefore he must be destroyed and stay destroyed.
Many American secular Jews do not view Israel as a priority.
And many are like Chamberlain, the pre-WWII Prime Minister of England. He was a smart guy and legitimately thought “peace in his time” could be obtained by concession. It’s a seductive thought, and embraced by 54% of the USA population, not merely Jews.
But most importantly Jews are also urban, through the accident of history in Europe where they were denied the right to own property, and thus became urban. Urban people -— regardless of ethnic or religious background -— are overwhelmingly liberal.
Indeed, I doubt there is a significant voting difference between Roman Catholics in New York City and Jews in New York City.

Nixon defied his cabinet to save Israel I will always consider him a Righteous Gentile and view him as one of the most honorable men in our recent history.
Thus making the Yom Kippur War the first that Israel fought using a significant amount of US arms.
Nixon was a good man.
I believe history will be far kinder than most people realize.

Will he try? It certainly seems that way. Will he succeed? Nope, that metrosexual "beta male", vs the G-d of Abraham? No contest. Will he get blame? From corrupt men, no, but from that self-same G-d of Abraham, count on it...

You’re right, Nixon received credit, albeit from those with some level of historical knowledge. As it turned out, it isn’t a major event in the history of the Nixon Presidency.
He got credit. That’s another reason why the Left hates him.
Always forgotten. As is the fact that cold war considerations aside, Nixon was likely motivated by the Egyptian betrayal after our interference in the just 1956 war, taking the Arab side against Britain, France and Israel. The worst mistake of the Eisenhower administration, per his autobiography. And per secondary sources, Ike agreed. The man had a memory, and good judgement.
