WASHINGTON President Barack Obama will focus "at the right time" on how to overturn the "don't ask, don't tell" ban on gays serving openly in the military, his national security adviser said Sunday.
"I don't think it's going to be it's not years, but I think it will be teed up appropriately," James Jones said.
The Democratic-led Congress is considering repealing the 1993 law. Action isn't expected on the issue until early next year.

The Democrat majority is a crime against nature. But they didn’t get to be a majority by getting their timing wrong.

And the military brass will hate it, they go to great lengths to boot them out of the military.

Excuse me, but where does Imus fit into this thread?
I saw no mention of his name anywhere, either in the story or any of the replies.

Would he even DARE do this with the unimaginable havoc he has wrought on our Military already?
Yes. He would.

Won’t be the end of it either. Libs will never stop pushing the envelop. Next up, or up soon, military chaplains will be ordered to do gay weddings. And then it’ll be on to some other outrage.

President Barack Obama will focus "at the right time" on how to overturn the "don't ask, don't tell"... ..ah, give the new President a break, it took him two days to figure out a window at the WH wasn't a door....dealing with lying about ones sexuality is minuscule compare to destroying a country's economy, while hiding your nationality, religion, political beliefs and dismantling the Constitution....

Ironic, so they put DADT on the backburner to focus on bank bailouts, socialized medicine and bankrupting the country. Because frankly, DADT is nonsense: homosexuals are already allowed to serve, if they don't tell anyone. The only thing that DADT does is screw both the army and the soldiers. The army because you can have the army pay for your e.g. medical training just to show up with your boyfriend one day before you get sent to Iraq. And the soldier because there have been some soldiers who served honorably just to be discharged under DADT a few days before they were eligible for a pension.
Even if they repealed DADT nothing much would change, there wouldn't be horseplay in the showers, flirting on duty or soldiers showing up in drag, because that's already verboten. All you need to do is apply the rules that go for social contacts between male and female soldiers (or soldiers/civilians). Everyone who signs up for the army should realize it's not a dating service.
Plus: it doesn't cost a thing.

exactly
with all the things going on and men /women dying over in two wars right now then why on earth would this even be on the table or even taken seriously.
For those homos trolling on here then ask yourself.
you say it is your own private life yet you want to run around telling everyone that you’re a homo.
WE have more pressing issues ;like two wars, economy, jobs dealing with Iran, N kOREA ETC and yet you think that your perverted sick lifestyle should be put on the front burner.?
pathetic you are

Yeah, the balance they provide still seems skewed too far to the left. The Right wing they portray is really center right to centrist while the Left side they portray is center left to far left.

Zero has no clue about the military (he never served as he’s only served us his BS) and shouldn’t be making decisions about this ... let the military sort this out.

Either that or Barney just doesn’t want to see any queers get killed in an out of control war in which ostammer has taken weak positions. Afghanistan is spiraling out of control now and we’ve lost a lot of gained ground in Iraq. The queers don’t want to fight there. In fact, I doubt many would enlist anyway. This is strictly a political move to gain/continue favor with queers. I expect this will be undertaken right before 2012 to maximize queer enthusiasm for ostammer’s re-election.
