Leno Bashes Letterman: I've Never Had Sex With a Staff Member By Noel Sheppard Created 2009-10-03 12:24
Jay Leno went after his former late night rival on Friday using some of his opening monologue to poke fun at David Letterman's recently disclosed sexual escapades with staffers.
As Friday's program began, Leno quipped, "If you came here tonight for sex with a talk-show host, youve got the wrong studio."
But that was only the beginning (video embedded below the fold with transcript, h/t Mediaite [1]):
If you came here tonight for sex with a talk-show host, you've got the wrong studio. Alright? So. Boy, what is going on? Boy, first, Conan hit his head, then somebody tries to extort money from Letterman. I'm so glad I'm out of late night. Oh. You know, I want to say I myself was once the victim of an extortion plot. How do you think NBC got me to do a 10:00 show? That's why I'm here. I am happy to say I have never had a sexual relationship with any of my staff members.
Nice.
It’s a sign of the times that someone would pat themselves on the back for not having stepped out on their spouse. What do people think those vows they make in the marriage ceremony mean?
Jay-lousy?
I got bored with Leno a long time ago. Lately I have been watching Jimmy Kimel Live. Just the monologe though.
I guess... but he to my knowledge hasn’t been linked to anything shady in that regard either. I don’t know. I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Besides, it wasn’t an admission. It was a joke. The point was to poke fun at Letterman not give a rundown of his sexual history.
and I've never had sex with any of my members staff either.
Like I said, I’ve watched him so rarely, I suppose I never took the time to get bored? Maybe it’s faint praise to say that, unlike Letterman, Jay’s “not instantly repulsive”.
Hell, they’re all on too late for me - and I live in the Central Time Zone where they come on an hour earlier. Pretty soon, I’ll be out hustling broads at the “early bird special” restaurants!
I haven’t watched any of them since Johnny Carson left. He makes them all look sophomoric, not to say moronic.
Nah, Jay is as pure as the driven snow. Why those 18 to 24 months when he was ripping Linda Tripp to shreds almost every night, I was thinking what a great moral compass he had compared to Letterman.
Sadly, Jay is no moral giant either.
As for Letterman, folks, people mingle with staff members. While that’s generally a lateral type thing, it certainly isn’t against the law to have relations with people in your employ. If both parties were willing, I’m just not going to get worked up over this.
If something of a nature of coercion or abuse were to pop up, I’d have to see it different. I haven’t followed this closely, so if that has been revealed, I’d see it different.
I don’t think he should be canned for this. If it’s been a long time since, I wouldn’t like to see his current marriage broken up over it either.
I’m not a fan of David. I hardly every watch the show, and generally it’s when a Conservative person is the guest. I don’t like to see people torn apart by public outrage that is overblown.
...Alone?...
At least he’s doing it with someone he loves.

LOL
That actually made sense — and I was willing to believe that the feminazis were sincere in their beliefs. Right up till BJ Clinton raped Lewinski. (Not “rape-rape”, as Whoopi would say — but certainly the most lopsided “power imbalance” imaginable.)
Letterman is in total control of his show — he can make or break the career of any staff member. Therefore (by the pre-Clinton logic of the feminazis) Letterman committed rape (although not rape-rape).
Now, everyone knows that some women are more than willing to use their wiles for career advancement. However, the feminazis denied that reality for many years, and attacked any male transgressors, deemed guilty of “workplace sexual harassment”.
The feminazis proved themselves to be complete hypocrites, by defending BJ — and have proven it once again by not vociferously condemning Letterman.
Extramarital activity is wrong — coercive sex is wrong. Letterman is either guilty of coercive sex (rape, but not “rape-rape”; in the logic of Hollywierd elites) — or his female staff are whores — or some combination of the two.
“Im confused, I always have sex with my staff member.....”
And on the other hand....
“The first time I had sex I was scared to death - - I was all alone!” - Rodney Dangerfield
Try the little blue pill.
Not good to be together ALL the damn time.
...it certainly isnt against the law to have relations with people in your employ.
I worked for several large companies (telecoms) that had yearly sexual harassment
How is that “bashing”?
Thank you for the correction. My, isn’t our government concerned with our well being. I’m sure it was because the women’s groups wanted to make sure bosses didn’t abuse their employees. All well and good. It still prevents two people who find each other attractive from doing what comes naturally. It also sets up a situation where two people going in by choice, could turn upside down when one gets angry about a breakup.
Note, these same women’s groups saw nothing wrong at all with Bill Clinton hitting on Paula Jones, raping Juanita Broaderick, or having an intern service him in the oval office, while he was on the phone discussing troops deployments with an official in Florida.
We sure live in an interesting age don’t we.
Well, when Carson was on I was young enough to stay up that late!
