NEW YORK Michael Vick is back with Nike more than two years after the company severed ties over the quarterback's involvement in a dogfighting ring.
The managing director of the agency that represents Vick announced the deal Wednesday while participating on a panel at the Sports Sponsorship Symposium. Michael Principe of BEST referred questions to Vick's agent, Joel Segal, who did not return calls from The Associated Press.
Segal told SportsBusiness Journal that Vick will wear Nike shoes, gear and apparel, but would not reveal the terms of the agreement
"Mike has had a great relationship with Nike and is excited to be part of the Nike team again," Segal said.
The deal is the latest step forward for Vick as he seeks to rehabilitate his career and his image after serving 18 months in federal prison. On Sunday, Vick played his first regular-season game since December 2006.

You’ve sold me on New Balance.
I think I have some no-name knock off shoes
I think his punishment was excessive. I don’t buy Nike anyway so I’m not too concerned.
New Balance has been the only sneakers I have bought since I bought my first pair years ago. I don't even look at the other brands. Why bother? New Balance is simply the best!
Agree! I love my NB shoes b/c they are so comfortable, stylish and well made!
I have never bought any before.
The man plays football. He clearly is scummy, and I would not have him over for a cookout.
He plays football very well and football players make dough doing commercials. If you do not like him or the product, then don't buy it.
He is an athlete, and folks would have him sitting on a corner trying to figure out how to put food on his plate because he was convicted of a crime and sentenced to prison for it.
Where is the redemption in all of this?
He tortured dogs and went to prison for it. If his sentence was inadequate then change the laws. Execute dog torturers.
Meanwhile, Presidential assassins get to walk, with barely a squeak.

I don’t wear nike shoes, never have.
Now you can be certain I NEVER WILL!
Of all the people out there, why would they want this man representing them? Next time I get a pair of shoes, I’ll be certain not to get Nike, and that is a brand I have purchased before and always consider.
What is it about Nike re-signing a contract with a man who abused and killed dogs that suddenly makes you want to buy them?
Just love those dog torturers and killers don’t you? You think killing dogs is hunky dory. I pray (I realize obviously being an atheist who spits on churches you never have prayed) you don’t have any dogs.
Since people who buy these shoes love killing and torturing they should be beaten upon purchase.
Supporting dog killers is your thing, we get it.
Nike, for those who prefer to kick their dogs in style.
Every subhuman who buys those shoes is telling the world they love dog killers.
Vick is a complete slimeball. People actually believe he has remorse. No he only regrets getting caught. 99 percent sure he is killing dogs still. Once a killer always a killer. He just hides it better.
If you see anyone wearing his shoes DO NOT LET YOUR CHILDREN NEAR THEM. Wearing those shoes means killing is hunky dory to you.
In a strange twist of fate I ate at a restaurant his fellow Eagle Donovan McNabb helped his childhood friends get started last night.
While Vick sets up his childhood friends in dog killing businesses his teammates helps set his friends up in restaurants.
At least when he gets mad he blasts himself and leaves the course without comment.
Can’t believe we actually have people here who support dog killing as anyone who would even consider not boycotting Nike would.
Good thing about the shoes is it’s nice when people who would kill and rape at a seconds notice wear something that announces it.
Anyone wearing those shoes announces they think killing is fine and dandy.
He doesn’t care unless it affects how much he gets paid.
Let’s see Nike the dog killer lovers have what about 1500 NFL players to chose from and pick the dog killer?
What’s truly scary is we have dog killers here who love Vick. If you support him you support dog killing.
There’s a difference between me and the Vick lovers here. I worship God. You worship Vick.
I pray. You prey on innocents.
Should I throw away the 10 year old Nike shoes that I wear a couple of times a year? Then spend $150 on new shoes?
