Later On
I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:18
It seems there are two kinds of people in this world: those who have an eternal perspective and those who are preoccupied with the present.
One is absorbed with the permanent; the other with the passing. One stores up treasure in heaven; the other accumulates it here on earth. One stays with a challenging marriage because this isnt all there is; another looks for happiness in another mate, believing this life is all there is. One is willing to suffer poverty, hunger, indignity, and shame because of the glory which shall be revealed (Rom. 8:18); another believes that happiness is being rich and famous. Its all a matter of perspective.
Abraham had an other world perspective. Thats what enabled him to give up a piece of well-watered land by the Jordan (Gen. 13). He knew that God had something better for him later on. The Lord told him to look in every direction as far as he could see and then said that his family would someday have it all. What a land grant! And God promised that his descendants would be as numerous as the dust (v.16).
Thats an outlook many people cant understand. They go for all the gusto right now. But Gods people have another point of view. They know that God has something better later on!
Id rather have Jesus than silver or gold;
Id rather be His than have riches untold;
Id rather have Jesus than anything
This world affords today. Miller

~ 2009 National POW/MIA Day ~ 18 Sept 09
A Pentagon ceremony for National POW/MIA Recognition Day will be held on Friday, Sept.18, 2009. This ceremony will feature troops from each of the military services. The President is expected to issue a proclamation commemorating the observances and reminding the nation of those Americans who have sacrificed so much for their country. Observances of National POW/MIA Recognition Day are held across the country on military installations, ships at sea, state capitols, schools and veterans' facilities. This observance is one of six days throughout the year that Congress has mandated the flying of the National League of Families' POW/MIA flag. The others are Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day and Veterans Day. The flag is to be flown at major military installations, national cemeteries, all post offices, VA medical facilities, the World War II Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the official offices of the secretaries of state, defense and veterans affairs, the director of the selective service system and the White House.

Yes Happy B’DAY! I have been working for the USAF for 35 years. 20 as AD and 15 as civil service. Geez, I’m getting old!
Nice pix. Some are from older AF Litho series.
IF you are a litho series fan, the AF has started printing the posters again and a new, current series has hit the streets.
Check w/ your local PA office for availability.

Thank you for remembering and your support of our current service members and veterans.
I had the honor of serving my country in the USAF under President Reagan 1984-1988.
