United Way and ACORN
United Way | 9/17/09 | eeevil conservative

Posted on 09/17/2009 2:03:00 PM PDT by eeevil conservative

Please join me in asking United Way to stop all affiliation with ACORN until a full investigation of ACORN has been conducted.

Twin Cities United Way (PDF see page 10)

United Way of North Central Florida lists ACORN as a Partner Agency

I am sure there other examples out there! C'mon FREEPers, let's do what we do best! Find the other examples, link them here, and call United Way and ask them to stop all work with this organization known as ACORN until they are fully cleared.

Stopped giving to the UW way back when - they started supporting planned parenthood.

the point is to bring awareness to others, and pressure United Way— as to ALIENATE ACORN from ALL its friends, not JUST TAX PAYER MONEY....

ya know....

Stopped donations to United way years ago, more money goes to the UW administration operations than to the people who need it the most.

Salvation Army is my choice now.

Yes they do. I almost lost a job over my refusal to ‘donate’ to UW.”

Same here! It’s an ego thing among corporate executives...they want 100% participation by employees. I was given a stern talking to, even though I planned to contribute directly rather than through UW to the charity of my choice.

We don’t give to them but I will be glad to help pressure them over ACORN. We need to destroy ALL support for ACORN. NEXT STOP..the SEIU!

I have stopped also. Every fall in my company they hand out pre-printed donation cards. You are required to return them. I also donate $0.00 to the United Way. They fund Planned Parenthood and I will not willing give a cent to any organization that funds abortion in any way.

The company my husband used to work for used to encourage (hassle) the employees at the annual United Way meeting to donate from each pay check. So he would put down 5.00 just so they wold leave him alone.
I would make him cancel it each time also. I told him there is no way I’m donating to a company like that when the top people there are making 300K-40K + a year on our hard earned money.

I have been employed with a major IT corporation for nearly four years which also has an annual United Way drive.

They have yet to see one red cent from me...and they never will. Especially now given their unholy ACORN alliance. I also found out about both United Way and The March Of Dimes taking money and putting it towards abortion and embryonic stem cell research.

I also give to The Salvation Army and Navy Relief (since I am a Retired Vet and in return for their assistance over the years to thousands of Active Duty Sailors and Marines).

I told my Supervisor I simply refused on religious grounds and that if there were any retaliation I'd see her in Court.

That stopped it cold.

I just did a quick google of who donates or has donated to ACORN and the list is getting longer and longer. Rotary clubs, women’s groups, Bank of America, SEIU, and just getting started. Is it worth making a list of smaller groups like Rotary Clubs?

My last company was BIG in the local United Way campaigns, with loaned executives and all that stuff. Our local UW chapter has not dumped the BSA as lots of them have, BUT Margaret Sanger's genocide group is always a big beneficiary. The company people tried every year to get me to kick in, but no. They say you can check off blah blah blah so your money won't go to so and so, but that doesn't address the company match (and there's no box to check to give my money to anything like, say, NRA).

Not so much actual "ACORN" activity here in town but we do have a big SEIU presence and they are thick in United Way here (and in local & statewide politics as you'd expect). Most of the recipient charities are those lunatic asylum type outfits and they have paid staff, and I bet you won't guess in a million years what union they belong to.

United Way has been laundering contibutions made to other "Non Profits" that in turn spend it on things that are blatantly profitable for other profit making corporations run by liberals.

We've watched people who are able to contribute thousands through UW and stipulate a non-profit group to receive these funds with no record and without publicity with impunity.

Isn't this like money laundering? Because, the money is then invested in projects that directly benefit a "for profit" corp saving much expense that makes for better profits.

For example, a Land Trust or Conservancy is stipulated by an employee/employer to receive specific contributions. In turn the Land Trust/Conservancy acquires choice river front and then writes for a grant from Cal-Trans because they just upgraded a bridge upstream and some of our gas tax goes to "evironmental mitigation" by law.

With all that money mixed together, the L.T./Conservancy develops a whitewater rafting launch site for the local rafting corporations that pretty much makes this public land unuseable by the general public.

So, probably, the same type "revenue stream" has been flowing from United Way, secretly into the coffers of ACORN for malicious mischief making!!!
