Over the past decade, American families and businesses have seen their health-care costs skyrocket. Today, employer-based coverage for a family of four typically costs more than $13,000.

That person looks sort of old to be getting a flu shot. Aren’t they reserved for the young?

Olypia Snowe was the last Republican to pull out of the Baucus plan.

Go ahead Max, ram it through the Senate and then go back home and see what your voters think.

Highmark Blue Shield, which enjoys a virtual monopoly on health insurance in midstate Pennsylvania just took out a newspaper advertisement to warn that its insurance rates will increase 20% to 30% effective January 3, 2010—and in the fine print indicates that the rates might even be higher depending on the number of plan participants.

I don’t like Obamacare but the Magick One is right about one thing: The status quo is unaccpetable.

No Max, don’t go ahead and ram it through; the voters have already showed you what they think about ObamaNOcare. Don’t delete the America we know.

I don't get the 13K per year for health insurance.
My daughter and husband pay $335 per month (not a company plan), a $25 co-pay and the well baby has no co pay, there is also prescription coverage.

Now they are a young family but there sure is a difference here.

Letter I sent my Elected Representatives
Me ^ | September 11, 2009 | Cindy
Posted on September 12, 2009 6:43:24 PM PDT by Cindy

Letter I sent my elected representatives:

Dear ####

Please vote NO on the health care bill package President Obama is trying to push on America. We can’t afford it and neither can the future generations.

My husband and I would like to see:

1. tort reform.

2. the ability to purchase insurance in any state.

3. the deductible (high or low) of our choice.

4. medical savings account.

Growing up in a low-income home, I do know that there are many options for people who cannot afford health care. There were then; there are now.

Thank you for reading this.

I’m covering two with very good employer-based Blue Cross/Blue Shield care for about 4K. I don’t believe Baucus’s figures at all. Add in vision and dental and I’m paying around 4,500.

Yes, I’m saying he is lying like the Democrat he is.

Let’s see real reform:

1. Portability. (1 rule not 50)
2. No pre-existing conditions.
3. Employee based. (Follows the employee between employers)
4. Fix Medicare (before taking on a grander role Congress)
5. Tort reform.
6. Some sort of cost control on hospitals to charge a ‘reasonable’ cost for supplies and services.

Get the state government out of any management role and regulatory role making, too many fingers in the pie.

Meaningful tort reform means the Dems would need to p*ss-off trial lawyers royally.

Reasonable costs means no $150.00 aspirins.

Healthcare needs fixing ... just not any of the plans on the congressional table now.

Another big government plan brought to you by the same power hungry politicians who can’t even manage the nation’s finances or control the existing bureaucracies in a responsible way.

We are doing about the same. My daughter - 25 had to take a personal plan with Blue Shield which runs about $200 mo including basic dental... not ideal, but she has coverage.
I never had insurance in my 20’s - it was pay as you go or use low cost clinics. As a kid - we were very low income and it was no insurance... all pay as you go.

It was on TheHill.com when I was looking for something else that Snowe, the lone Republican left, had pulled out so they have no Republicans in the House or Senate that will support Obamacare.

It’s getting to the point where nothing short of an uprising and physically dragging these senators out of their offices will suffice. They are determined to act against the will of the people and when that happens we’ve transitioned to a tyrannical rule.
