On September 12, 2009 American conservative of all persuasions showed that they had awaken . Millions of Americans all over the country protested the out of control spending, economic-ruining, socialistic and unconstitutional tendancies of the current politicians in Washington DC, and particularly the Obama administration. Estimates ranged from 2 million by the Daily Mail in the UK, to near one million by Homeland Security, to several hundred thousand by NBC. Watching it on TV, I believe there were a million or more in Washington DC. See the pictures below and decide for yourself:
And the Official Obama administration response? You guessed it... American citizens are intent on restoring the Constitution. . Conservatives consistantly poll as a large majority of the polical makeup of America...conservative Republicans, conservative independents, and conservative democrats too. When Jimmy Carter ran down America during his presidency between 1976 and 1980, Americans reacted against him and he was defeated in a landslide. The Obama administration policies are worse for America than Jimmy Carter's were, moving more rapidly and with far more abandon than even Carter tried, or Bill Clinton for that matter. The results are going to be the same. Americans want to restore the Constitutional Republic, based on the US Constitution and its foundational moral and republican principles. They are not asking for this...they are demanding it. And they will have satisfaction. Starting in 2010 with the largest overturn in the history of the House and Senate in a single election, and proceeding through 2012, the American people showed on 9/12/2009 that they are willing and more than capable of taking these measures into their onw hands. Current liberal, socialistic, marxistic, and RINO politicians ignore this at their own mortal political peril...and justifiably so. Neuter them in 2010...send them packing in 2012! AMERICA AT THE CROSSROADS OF HISTORY

One of the best chants I heard this weekend was “I finally got off the couch, I finally got off the couch.” I really think we have finally gotten people to realize they are not the minority—but the silent majority who will be silenced no more.
Thanks Jeff for the awesome pictures. Have loved reading, seeing, hearing every second of the march/protests.
Amen to that...and this is exactly what it takes to preserve our liberty, our constitution, and our way of life. Eternal vigilance.
Excellent, Jeff! Thank you.
The time lapse vid stopped at 11:30. We arrived at 12:30 and there was still a huge stream of ppl on both sides of Pennsylvania heading toward the Capitol.
About 3:00, they announced that many roads were jammed with ppl still trying to get there.
We left about 4:00 (had a long, long drive home) and there was still a large stream of ppl coming out of Metro and walking down both sides of Pennsylvania.
I wish the time-lapsed vid had covered time well beyond 11:30. The crowd was there in shifts, so was much larger than a count taken at any one time.
On the FreedomWorks site, the march was supposed to assemble at 8:00 at Freedom Plaza, then BEGIN down Pennsylvania Ave at 11:30.
When we got off at Federal Triangle at 12:30 (yes, big delays on Metro), volunteers were there telling people to go ahead down to the Capitol. One told me the number of people who arrived at Freedom Plaza at 8:00 was so great that they could not be contained there. So organizers decided to forego events there and just start the march almost immediately (as opposed to waiting for its 11:30 planned start time).
This means that the timelapse vid, ending at 11:30, captured mainly the initial surge of people who got to the rally as soon as it opened. But many, many people were still getting downtown from 11:30 on.
It was an awesome, awesome day.
BTW, will find link, but WashPo reported that Obama took Marine One over the march on his way to MN. Today Gibbels says “what march?” and Axelrod says “never mind.”
You are welcome...and I feel the same way. Can’t get enough.
I doubt if that picture was from yesterday. I was there and the grassy area of the mall was fenced off. If I had to guess, the crowd was between 400-500k.
woken up and pissed off
Outstanding. Then he would have seen for himself and that is exactly what was needed.
The American people are awake to his marxistic ideas and efforts and will not stand for it anymore.
That is what I sought. Yer the go to guy for good info Jeff.
I am grateful !
Stay Safe an take care of that ankle buddy.
But the crowd yesterday was more dynamic. I believe it was much larger than 500K...not only from some of the pics, but from the fact that people were streaming towards the capitol for hours and hours. See post number 104.
WELL in excess of 3 million. I was at the DC protest, and without wanting to go back into the argument (but having been to several DC pro-life protests) I can tell you it was much closer to 1.5 million than anything else - and a lot of those people told me that their hometowns were having protests that same day. In other words, not their states, but every single town in those states.
I was at my local protest July 5, and for a town of 13,000 people, we drew about 2,000 protesters that afternoon, not to mention all the tourists who drove by and gave us the high sign.
Roger that...and wilco.
Good report - thanks for adding that - way to go California!
BTW when we saw the helicopter we began to yell out, Can You Hear Us Now.
They were allowed on a portion of the mall (about 1/3 of it).
Police said that this is what the permit allowed. Thousands of people found their way to the sides of the Capitol grounds and out on the streets.
Because the picture of us filling the Mall would have exposed the lie that there were “tens of thousands” of people there rather than the millions that were.
Jeff if you take the grassy area in front of the Capitol steps bounded by the circular walk way to the Left and the drive to the right fronted by the road in front, you can fit 8K people in there with out any crowding, I’ve seen it.
If Louie’s gang was a million, then this is ten million! :o)
We arrived on the amtrak at 9:11 am. Buy the time the sold out train (the train guy asked if there was anything going on in DC today because his train has NEVER been sold out)arrived we met up with some of the buses unloading. We had our own little "pre march" before the big event on our way down to the crowd.
We arrived at 13th street at 9:50. We found a spot on Penn. Ave for the march and exactly 10 am, the march towards the Capital started (I looked at my watch because I was supposed to be meeting friends, whom I could not find).
So apparently, the reports of having been asked to start the march early due to overwhelming response is true!
