[history]
Please post your updates from D.C. and from news reports here as well as your photos of the day.
Our Walter Reed salute to the troops last night was very well attended. Upwards of 800 people were there over the three-plus hours of the demonstration.
Photos and video taken by This Ain'tHell taken in daylight before the bulk of the crowd showed can be viewed here.

I want that crowd-in-Washington, D.C.-photo on a HUGE poster, in a frame, with a catchy Patriotic caption.
This is just awesome!

"Imagine how small the crowd would be if all the people who scrambled and sacrificed to be there found reasons they could not attend."I am waiting for an unemployment extension. I was supposed to get a check a week ago, but I have to wait until NEXT week for a phone hearing on my extension. Who knows when I am getting paid. Hubby is laid off too, but cannot collect unemployment. So I have a whopping 78 cents in the check book. I have to go write a bad check just for food, and pray I get some money before the electric gets shut off. And you want to pick on me because I did not go to DC!!! How wrong to post that.

It’s mostly crickets from them for now, Hildy.

Thanks for the report. I am sitting here with tears streaming down my face!

The crowd at the plaza starting point is undiminished. No end yet in sight.

There have been articles and investigations into why the newsies are silent on certain subjects and it tracks back to threats from the WH.

Wow! At the end of the blue line Metro station. Probably 1000 people just waiting just to get on the train.
