If Mr. Obama were truly serious about creating a bipartisan agreement on health care reform, he would take some responsibility for the misinfirmation he and his own team have been spreading and own up to the fact that he HAS been talking about making decisions to cut treatment for end-of-life care. The following is a quote from an interview Mr. Obama gave in May to the New York Times Magazine.
Mr. Obama: "Now, I actually think that the tougher issue around medical care its a related one is what you do around things like end-of-life care. . .
That dont make people healthier. So when Peter Orszag and I talk about the importance of using comparative-effectiveness studies (9) as a way of reining in costs, thats not an attempt to micromanage the doctor-patient relationship. . . Well, I think that there is going to have to be a conversation that is guided by doctors, scientists, ethicists. And then there is going to have to be a very difficult democratic conversation that takes place. It is very difficult to imagine the country making those decisions just through the normal political channels. And thats part of why you have to have some independent group that can give you guidance. Its not determinative, but I think has to be able to give you some guidance. And thats part of what I suspect youll see emerging out of the various health care conversations that are taking place on the Hill right now.
Here is Mr. Obama telling the country he needs panels of experts to decide what care will be funded at the end of life and what care won't. When he says there is nothing in the bills underconsideration about end-of-life care, he is lying. Pure and simple he is lying.
Comparative Effectiveness studies are mandated in section 1401 of HR3200.
When Mr. Obama says there is nothing affecting end-of-life care, he is lying. He is lying, He is lying.
When has that lying piece of RAT garbage ever told the truth?
Ping!
He’s on my TV again. Make it stop.
You have accurately identified the real source, section 1401,of the “death panel”/rationing issue.
Evaluation of “Comparative effectiveness” as outlined in that section by “payers” looking for “value” will surely lead to rationing and denials.
Your TV is infested with the dreaded Obamatron virus.
Just unplugging it will not work.
You will have to kill it to save it.
If a .45 ACP is not available a 12 ga, OO buckshot will do the job.
Aim for the center of the picture tube.
You will then have peace and quiet until you are called to the FEMA camp.
I kept yelling at the TV “LIAR!” I finally had to stop watching.
DumBO lying is news?
It would be nice if the Republican leaders would actually go on tv and read the parts of the bill that prove Obama is lying.
