Once again, a NASA space probe is supporting the 6,000-year biblical age of the solar system...
(Excerpt) Read more at creation.com ...
I have told you this before, and we have discussed this subject.
I am a Christian. I have been baptized, and made a public profession of faith.
And youre demeaning, mean-spirited insults and childish name calling in this thread are not very Christ like. I was always taught that as a Christian we should always strive to be Christ like in all our actions and deeds. GGG now honestly have you lived up to that example in this thread?
A God who creates a situation where easily discovered physical laws and visual data contradict the scriptures he supposedly caused to be written is not a god I'll worship. [excerpt]So you have faith that you have not been tricked by an evil being.
I don't have faith in the facts. [excerpt]When you are holding a fossil, you have faith that you have not being tricked by an evil being into thinking you are holding a fossil.
The facts are the facts, no faith required. [excerpt]However, the underlying philosophy that you use to decide what is fact, and what isn't, is based on faith.
The facts fit and verify current physics, again no faith required. [excerpt]And you place great faith in that your understanding of physics is correct.
Faith is required only when you deny the evidence that proves your religious based age is wrong. [excerpt]Actually, faith is required every time you accept an assumption as true.
You have faith in your theory, no facts to back it up. [excerpt]Sorry, I'm not an Evolutionist.
BTW....the 4.5 billion year age for earth (+-200 million)is an established fact backed by the physical evidence and confirmed physics. [excerpt]And yet, that age is arrived at based on untestable philosophical assumptions.
A collection of tribal oral histories is not verifiable evidence. [excerpt]Christ verified the writings of Moses.
You are correct, science is a tool. But its use does not require faith that it works, as it explains the facts in a verifiable way. [excerpt, bold emphasis mine]Will science work tomorrow?
Go look at Space.com, and you will see the evidence of new solar systems in the very act of coalescing in the various nebulaes around us. Again, facts, not faith. How many times has this process been observed start to finish in a single instance?
Exactly- God has said in His word (which liberal religious wannabe’s question by the way) that not one of His elect will be lost- not one- so noone is going to ‘be turned off’ by anything- but liberals liek to pretend that true Christians are ‘mean and offputting’ when declaring God’s word lol but whatever- Everyone who is slated to be saved wil lbe saved- let those that don’t understand this fret and wring their hands in feigned worry
[[I was always taught that as a Christian we should always strive to be Christ like in all our actions and deeds.]]
Which is precisely what we’re tryign to do by calling hypocrites hypcrites, vipers, vipers, snakes, snakes- just like Christ did- Woopsie- forgot that that was part of the bible too did ya?
Yes, there was a specific day, or even a thousand-year “age” if you want to run with that meaning of “yom,” in which Adam was created.
There are six of these Creation days or “yom” in series, though, and you ignore that, in order to interpret Biblical Creation as only dealing with mankind, only on Earth.
It’s also problematic to espouse the possible, thousand-year meaning of “yom” in an attempt at making wiggle room for evolution. Stretch out the six days of Creation, and one day of rest, under any accepted meaning of “yom,” and you have, at most, 6,000 years, plus 1,000 years of rest.
It doesn’t work, Radix. God is not going to lie to us, allegorically or literally, and that would make the Genesis account a lie, either way.
The Hebrew word “Yom” has some designations that are not at all indicative or exclusive to a meaning of a 24 hour period.
But then, you might have have to read a bit (or a whole lot) more in order to grasp that concept.
You have suggested that … [excerpt]Then why didn't you quote me?
For an example, let's take a rabbit skull, and a baby velociraptor skull, each of similar size and mass. [excerpt]I didn't realize that Noah killed all the animals and let his pet Dermestidae clean them before the flood.
(1) How is it possible for these blind hydrostatic forces to distinguish between, say rabbit skulls and velocirapter skulls, … [excerpt, bold emphasis mine]Your presupposition is false. (who cleaned the skulls?)
(2) Explain how these forces were in play EVERYWHERE on the Earth, so that ALL the Earth's fossils get sorted, not just places where EXCEPTIONAL conditions prevailed. [excerpt]Within the framework defined by Rebel_Ace, there is no explanation.
Watch the "rushing"! Observe how the water will gently recede from the "landscape" you created in the pool. [excerpt]You have defined a catastrophic global flood involving massive geological activity to be equivalent to a draining pool.
Now, in order to create "rushing" waters from the floodwaters receding, you will have to "magically" remove about half the water FROM ONE SIDE OF THE POOL ONLY, so that the water piled higher on the other side HAS SOME PLACE TO RUSH TO. [excerpt]Or rapidly lift up the middle of the pool.
You might consider it as a resource. I use it it, and have had my own copy for about 35 years now.
It’s some comic book, twisted caricature of God, that says it’s not nice to point out others being naughty.
I can’t escape concluding that they’ve morphed Santa Claus up in there somewhere, but lost the lump of coal for bad boys and girls, along the way.
Their conception of god just wants us all to be nice, and then it gives us stuff; behavioral expectations are passé, let alone actual belief.
Those of us, who believe and who recognize clear, behavioral expectations, are somehow bad under this manufactured scenario.
Thank you so much for sharing your insights, dear brother in Christ!
Please point out the Biblical context, in which Adam's Creation was stretched out hundreds of millions of years, as is necessary, in order to fit evolution into Biblical Creation.
Seriously. I'm very interested in seeing you do so.
I provided a link to explain the various definitions and context in detail. I guess no one read it.
Whyyyy, they're protecting other FReepers or some such rubbish as though calling an article “spam” is a selfless public service and proclaiming evolution theories and Scripture compatible is snatching souls from the flames.
I seem to recall Jesus saying something about judging others ..
Matthew 7: 1~5
1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?
5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
Just a hint, if you learned how to use spell check people just might take you a little bit seriously, you know besides that whole using outdated and already refuted arguments thing,
I meant every word of it. Ira goes around telling everyone that he is a genuine Christian, all the while declaring that I am a phony Christian who seeks to harm the cause of Christ by posting links that are supportive of Biblical Creation/ID. Then he turns around and inserts himself into the middle of an interservice rivalry (that he had no business sticking his nose in) by cynically trading on his grandfather’s heroism to enter the discussion, even though he has never served himself, and he did so for no other purpose than to defend his fellow evos in an area that has nothing to do with the thread. As far as I’m concerned, Ira is the lowest of the low, and I have nothing but contempt for his perfidious, worm-tongue ways.
