Sometimes, 18 kids is simply not enough, so Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar of Tonitown, Ark., are expecting a new addition to their household this spring.
That's right, at that point they will have five more children than Nadya "Octomom" Suleman and 11 more children than Jon and Kate Gosselin. Wow.
"We are so thrilled," says Michelle, 42. "We just can't believe it is happening."
You can't, Michelle? Not after the previous 18 times you were pregnant?
Her husband, Jim Bob Duggar, 44, agrees: "I never gets old. We are so grateful for each child. We look forward to our first grand baby and 19th child."
Their first grandchild is due soon, as their oldest son Joshua, 21, is apparently getting a fast start in joining the family profession of making humans.
He and his wife are expecting a daughter next month, who will be older than her new aunt or uncle: "I think it is going to be awesome," Josh said.

Selfish if you have 18 already IMO to keep on having babies in the more dangerous years.
Really isn't rocket science here, just plain common sense and responsibility.
I think the Duggar’s are nice folks, I just think when you have a football team of kids already you are making responsibilities for others if you keep pushing kids out in later years that could be at risk.
If they get a baby with problems, they are choosing to make their kids care for their sibling until death. Kind of selfish IMO since it's not like they were going for a first kid.
Lots of babies and lots of mothers died having them as well.
The selfish deal happens IMO when we get to having babies after an age when it's a lot less safe.
Duggars are nice people, nothing against their being nice, just the lack of responsibility gets to me.
If they get a retarded or whatever baby they are making their other siblings care for that child until the baby dies as an adult.
When the number is already in the high teens of births, why maybe strap their other children with this possibility?
I don’t think they were “going for another kid”. They were having sex and she got pregnant. That can happen. When they first got married she used birth control and became pregnant anyway. That pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage. After that they committed to God the number of children they would have. God has blessed them with children and with the finances to provide for them. So now that they have 18 children do you want them to now decide it is in their hands and not God’s?
And yet you make a judgement, and then try to wrap the Bible around it, to try to legitimize your statement.
On the other hand, I don't need to know anything about you, because my comment was strictly about your comment, and how it was wrong.
Now if you would care to point out how I was in error of any of my previous statements about your comment, then you could hold my feet to the fire.
You are right that people are free to express their opinions. BUT, informed opinions are prefered opinions. I love FR, because I learn an AWFUL LOT about the world from others informed opinions. FR is better than college.
But when someone spouts off an uninformed opinion, they are more than likely going to receive flak. When they wrap that uninformed opinion with Bible justification, then its really going to come at them.
retarded or whatever baby? Strap their siblings?
Wow your worldview is showing and it “ain’t” pretty!
No, God isn't having unprotected sex with Mrs. Duggar making the decision of how many kids she will have. They are exercising their own will and desires.
We hope all babies are born healthy, but why risk leaving the family with a huge responsibility after already having successfully so many children?
Rolling the dice at an older age when handicapped children are more known to come is very selfish IMO. Especially when they already have a boat load of kids. Why take the chance of passing on a boat load of trouble to the healthy kids for life if they now get a problem child due to age?
This family invites public discussion of their lifestyle by being on television. It comes with the territory.
You make the point that the family invites public discussion of their lifestyle by being on television. You also mention that FR is a place to express opinions, and thus you expressed yours.
And yet you take offense, when someone is negative of your opinion, all the while you're negative of the Duggars opinion.
You have a boat load of kids and decide when you are old and it is dangerous to keep popping them out (by choice).
Seems to show a lack of responsibility to me and no care about loading up their kids with a possible expense and burden for life after they have gone.
This could become a case of their choices becoming their other children’s responsibilities down the line.
Again, you were on the lucky side of the numbers.
I’m glad for your good luck.
There are rare people who smoke and are alive at 108 also, want to suggest everyone smoke now?
Would be nice if there were no issues at older aged births, but there are.
Knowing the risks (and these days people do a lot more than the past) with a boat load of kids why take an irresponsible risk?
If she was 30 after many twins and was going for #19 I would not be bringing up the issue, so it isn’t about anti-life ideology, it’s more about being responsible with the knowledge God has given us.
retarded or whatever baby? Strap their siblings?
Wow your worldview is showing and it aint pretty!
"I've got two daughters. ... But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby."- Barack Obama
Someones world view sounds pretty close to someone elses.
Not long ago people thought it was OK to smoke while pregnant, maybe earlier than that it could have been considered OK to drink. Knowledge suggests at times we adjust behaviors currently compared to the past.
Downs is one issue.
I hope the baby comes out normal.
Maybe they don’t know how to use birth control.
I don’t know, hope their baby is healthy.
Yep, there is an endless stream of bad results that a child could carry more so from an older mom like this giving birth.
I’m not trying to sugar anything down, just stating that it doesn’t seem responsible.
I’m not using PC language and will use words like retarded and “Whatever baby” as a term to cover the range of bad health issues that babies could be born with.
I get some think this is a sweet cute issue here, but the danger to a baby born to an older mom is an issue.
And what rational thought would that be? Discussing with YOU beforehand, if they should have another child?
Maybe you can explain how you know better Michelles physical condition than Michelle or Jim Bob does. (Or their DOCTOR)
Or explain how you're more qualified to understand their financial obligations.
Or how about how you can see that their children are all abnormal. (oops my bad, they are abnormal. They are polite, respectful and weladjusted.)
Explain how you know that their prayer life isn't up to snuff, and that they really aren't seeking Gods will.
Explain how God hasn't blessed them, that they've just gotten lucky.
Explain how if they did have a handicap child, it would be obvious lack of responsibility.
Then after you've explained that one, explain to everyone else on this forum who has a handicapped child, how THEY were irresponsible.
Eplain how the rsults are in Gods hands, and Duggars have been blessed so far, but that Duggars are irresponsible, and God is wrong for blessing them.
If you explain that last one, explain how IF Jim Bob and Michelle should have a special needs child, how THAT child would be ANY LESS a blessing from God.
