Why the 'O'-ministration will implode in weeks
Townhall.com ^ | 8-29-2009 | Kevin McCullough

Never has an administration who had more firepower at their disposal, been set to so totally fail in the next six to eight weeks. It is nearly a foregone conclusion. It is nearly unavoidable. And it defies all logic given the sizable majority the administration has in both houses of Congress.

Since I was the first pundit to predict Obama's presidency (Dec 2006) it behooves me to tell you the course I believe the next few weeks will take and effectively halt the radical transformation that the left appeared unstoppable with only months ago.

1. Health Care's long and painful death.

Barring the existing possibility that the Democrats cram a reform bill down the throats of actively protesting Americans through an ultra-partisan process that would shut out conservatives and Republicans from even being allowed to contribute to the discussion, health care reform is dead. It actually died a good while back when the President decided to pivot and create a new issue that no one had been discussing--health insurance reform. The American people will want to know why we should spend $4 billion to cover everyone in America "efficiently," when we already do so with inefficiencies like people using the emergency room as their general practitioner for $2.5 billion. Deep thinkers on the issue want to know why the President hasn't entertained one item of tort reform--protecting his friends, the trial lawyers--yet is willing to claim that doctors are eager to lop off feet, tonsils, and foreskin just to make a buck.

2. Cap & Trade will be the largest tax increase in American history.

With the 2010 election cycle just around the corner, campaign ads are not far off from being drafted. With Cap & Trade still sitting in legislative limbo, with the President's own advisor--Warren Buffet--now opposing it openly on media, with the 9.12 project in the works in which the largest gathering of anti-tax Americans from the left, right, and middle will be coming to Washington DC on September 12, and with blue dogs getting absolutely hammered in their home districts supporting it, the chance of single-party ram through victory on the matter is not wise. Cap & Trade, if passed, will contribute to unemployment, Wall Street stop and starts, and ultimately reduced treasury revenues. It would serve as the single largest tax increase on the average American in all of American history. Even President Obama admitted as much, predicting that electric bill prices, in his words, would, "skyrocket." Those that have looked at the specifics tell us that the average utility bill in America will go from $167 to $307 per month, per family.

3. Unemployment to remain high.

Now several Washington organizations from left and right, and one of note consisting of both--the Congressional Budget Office, predicts that unemployment will not shrink from the predicted "Obama high" of 8%. Instead, nearly without fail, economists are predicting unemployment at or over 10% for up to the next 24 months. That is nearly 250% the increase in unemployment under Bush for nearly the duration of his two-term presidency. If people were working, higher taxes and possible new health care entitlements could be considered, but without them working it is political suicide for Democrats to even think of it.

4. Obama's integrity tarnished in August.

Not a great deal has been made of the whoppers that the President has been spewing while the Federal Government has been in recess, but it is worth noting that many more people than I had previously realized have notice the President "exaggerating" badly in his talks on health care. For instance confusing he actual $500 physicians get to amputate a foot as opposed to the $50,000 that he claimed they got. He has shown an utter disregard for the reputation of those he talks about, the "facts" he uses to make his argument, and is highly overly optimistic about the results of his policies. Long story short, at the beginning of the summer Americans mostly trusted him, his passion index was at +10, he heads into the fall at -14.

5. A $3 trillion dollar budget.

New spending for this and that sure added up. And that brings me to number 6.

6. A coming middle class tax hike.

They will hem and haw. There will be an official, and ever arrogant Robert Gibbs explanation from the White House Press room as to why they must to do this to be "good stewards" and to be a "responsible administration" that, "pays as it goes." But the truth is, in order to pay for everything they've promised and budgeted for, a tax is looming for small businesses and working families that President Obama promised would never come. And as an aside, he was going to break that promise all along. Because the minute the "Bush tax relief" runs out in 2010, middle class taxes would be going up in an "Obama administration." Hence fundamentally Obama's "not a single dime" pledge on the campaign trail was bollocks start to finish.

Of course the President, the Democrats, the left, and Congressional leadership could surprise me. They could show up in September and endorse the Coburn health care bill in the U.S. Senate and swipe the credit for it. They could show up next week and fight with all their might to not allow the tax rates to skyrocket in 2010. They could decide to scrap Cap & Trade and re-think the use of public money for true job-based economic stimulation.

But I'm not holding my breath, and I'd advise you against it as well.

They've awakened the American worker, the American small-business owner, and the American voter.

All three of which are now wondering aloud, "What on earth have we done?"

Fauxbama is a lame duck, he just doesn’t know it yet.

By end of the year, early next these radical “CZARS” hes appointed will be balls and chains around his neck, and EVERY DEMOCRAT who supports him. Trust me, that is the next 4 letter word in Politics and Fauxbama has surrounded himself and the democratic party with them.

2010 will be a bloodbath for the democrats in the congressional elections. All those that clung on enjoying Fauxbama’s coat tails will learn the hard way he’s nothing more than a pair of cement shoes.

Only people from the bluest of blue districts will be safe if they voted for or supported in any way his/Pelosi and Reid’s radical agenda.

Reid will not be re-elected. Spectre will not be Re-elected... Pelosi will not be speaker of the house come Jan 2010, Reid will no longer have a Senate seat, let alone be the majority leader.

The only CHANGE Fauxbama is bringing to US presidential history, is that he will replace CARTER in most living american’s lives as the worst president of their lifetimes.

This is the same kind of statement that was uttered before the election: "It won't be so bad because then we have a good chance of getting a conservative in 2012."

Only problem is, Zero is not Carter, and the problems he creates could well keep us from undoing the damage. If we lose our freedoms at the same time we are changing the foundations of our political system, we will never be able to recover.

If what you say were true, then there never would have been a Nazi Germany or a United Soviet Socialist Republic. And the Gulags and Concentration Camps that followed were not only overlooked by the population, they were fully supported for a number of reasons.

As a talk show host pal of mine (Brian Wilson/WSPD) says:
“Only Time will tell the difference between “Paranoia” and “Prescience”.

Combine Entitlement Mentality, “Dangling Chad” fury, Alinsky Operating Manual, Soros ATM card and a few million aggressively ignorant citizens impatient for their piece of the pie = inevitable destruction of captitalism, the American Republic and life in these United States as most of us have enjoyed it.

The funded/trained/(armed?) “citizen national defense force” is aleady in place (see: ACORN et al). With “czars” of remarkable lineage in place, unflinching myrmidons in the media and Congress, the tinder is ready for the spark. Swine Flu “pandemic”? “Civil unrest” as masses riot to get serum in (intentional?)limited supply? Nat Guard already training for that (TX, ME). Could “riots for serum” result modified/localized “martial law” with National Health Care as the quid pro quo while the media redundantly reports and polling results show YOU are scared sh**less and will gladly cough up more of your freedom for (alleged) security?
Tthe “Manufactured Crisis” will be just that.

Well, we have the Second Amendment and a more significant history of personal freedom than wither Germany or Russia. Would we really decide not to fight back against tyranny? Would we really go quietly into concentration camps?

I think we would resist and that we would have significant ability to do so -- ability that was not available in either Nazi Germany or the USSR. But we'll have to wait and see.

Just to be clear, I don’t watch C-SPAN. Ever.

Here in DC Metro we have C-SPAN Radio, and sometimes I’ll listen to the loons for about 30 seconds (like the Republican Socialist mentioned above) and then move on.

As for your other points, pretty much agree.

Martial Law would almost impossible. First ,as you say, the people WON’T put up with that. Second, probably 95% of the military is on our side. A good 80% or more of law enforcement is on our side. True, many in the inner cities don’t care one whit about right or wrong, the Constitution, or anything else, and they will submit easily if threatened, there are far too many of us that won’t be intimidated by Ogabe,(and we own the farms and cattle ranches)

I think the word ‘Socialism’ has been worn out at this point, but we are in the middle of Obama’s big socialist experiment, but we are quickly being ushered thru that into whatever totalitarian system we are headed toward (its gonna make Russia’s Communism look like child’s play)
But we are NOT THERE YET.

I still think that Obama will go after Americans’ tax deferred retirement accounts.

There is so much low hanging fruit in this country that we as Conservatives can pick. Millions of people know little to nothing about politics. It is up to us the informed to educate these people about politics especially the Democrats and what they are doing to this country. If each of us can convert just one of the uneducated to our side, we will bury the Democrats for years to come. Many fewer people are watching the MSM to get their news for the day. The people are no longer being indoctrinated by the Liberal press. If these people are not told how to think they are clueless.

Here is an example of how to win new Conservatives. I talked to a mother of a Cub Scout from my pack. I told her that the Democrats hate the Scouts because the Scouts will not let Gays be leaders. She was amazed by this true fact. Another example, I am pumping gas and I say half under my breath that the Democrats told us last fall they could bring down the cost of gas. I then say loud enough for the people pumping around me that the only way to bring down the price of gas is for the Democrats to allow us to drill for our own oil.

We must plant seeds of doubt in the minds of the non political group. We have true on our side

Rasmusen's Sunday poll numbers are out. O's at -10, with total disapprovals at 52%.

I think we're seeing a floor on the down-trending strong approvals, but we are NOT seeing a ceiling on the up-trending disapprovals.

I strongly urge people not to call Obama a Socialist. It's not that it isn't true, but I think he is more accurately a different kind of Collectivist. He really is a Fascist. People need to be educated on Fascist economics to see that Obama is a little like Stalin and a lot like Hitler.

And aside from the economic and social aspects of Fascism, he's got the racial superiority issue too. Call a spade a spade. Call a fascist a fascist.

Every Totalitarian takeover in history has managed to circumvent the truth. All they need to do is use Media Propaganda to create their own “truth”. Say it long enough and loud enough, the population will eventually accept it as “truth”. (Goebbels was living proof of that, as was Stalin's Pravda.)

Once ObamaCare passes, and has been in effect for a couple of years, it will have created a constituency which benefits from ObamaCare, and which will push hard for it's continence.

It's the same with any entitlement.

That’s certainly true too, but I meant something even worse: governmental interference in our freedoms, which would prevent us from getting rid of Obama “care” or any other bill or act even if we want to.

I don’t think the dems will try to take the retirement accounts. For a couple of reasons. Too many people would drop out of the tax system altogether, and they know it. Second, that starts a shooting war. As stupid as they are, I have to believe they know that, and know that they cannot win that one.
