Sen. Ted Kennedy Dies
The Capitolist ^ | 26/8/2009 | Patricia Murphy

Posted on 08/26/2009 6:40:47 AM PDT by Eleutheria5

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, longtime Democratic senator and the patriarch of the Kennedy political family, has died after a lengthy battle with brain cancer.

The Kennedy family released a statement early Wednesday morning saying, "Edward M. Kennedy – the husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle we loved so deeply – died late Tuesday night at home in Hyannis Port. We've lost the irreplaceable center of our family and joyous light in our lives, but the inspiration of his faith, optimism, and perseverance will live on in our hearts forever. We thank everyone who gave him care and support over this last year, and everyone who stood with him for so many years in his tireless march for progress toward justice, fairness and opportunity for all. He loved this country and devoted his life to serving it. He always believed that our best days were still ahead, but it's hard to imagine any of them without him."

In recent weeks, Kennedy had received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Obama, and his younger sister, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, died. News came last week that the senator had sent a letter to the governor of Massachusetts, asking that he work to change the state's laws of succession to fill his Senate seat quickly through a direct appointment, rather than through a lengthier special election process. Kennedy's letter, as well as his absence from the White House Medal of Freedom ceremony and his sister's funeral, fueled speculation that his health condition was grave.

Are they going to try to imitate the Gipper’s funeral procession? They might just get a few surprises (for liberals) on their way across the nation.

My feelings about the passing of Ted Kennedy. He was all of the aforementioned things, a whoremonger, immoral, etc. His daddy, Joseph taught all the Kennedy boys well. Here in the South Ted helped elect a lot of good representatives. All you had to mention was that your opponent was a friend of Ted’s and you got elected in a landslide! I do wish his soul well and hope he made amends with his Creator for supporting the deaths of over 50,000,000 unborn children.

How ironic is it the the death of the man who lived to take over the healthcare industry, has killed their best chance of doing just that.

>> in a couple of years I may have the chance to “anoint” him

I’ll bet they are prepared for his fans’ “anointing” — watch out for an electrified gravetop. ;-)

May he rot in hell.

Please all..let's not play God and send people to hell. If it wasn't for Jesus Christ paying for all our sins hell would be the destiny for all of us. Disagree with the man yes, but leave the sending to hell to the Almighty!

Oh contrare, tioga. The swimmer under no condition earned nor deserves RIP. RIH teddy. The old Ken Hamblin program “toilet flush” sound is appropriate for this fine occassion!

Nothing like getting up to a beautiful sunny morning and hear the best news in 2009. Looks like ol teddy cheated the dems out of the 60 votes by going to meet his maker before the MA crooks could cook the books on his replacement.

In a few months, with the help of ACORN, he’ll be up and voting again.

The one good thing I could say about The Swimmer, is that he torpedoed Jimmy Carter’s reelection bid. So in a way, thanks to Ted, we got 8 years of Reagan.

I really had to reach there to find something.

Many years ago, my grandfather was accosted at a rural post office by a local woman and FDR fan. This was in April 1945 and news just reached them about FDR's passing in Warm Springs, Georgia.

At the time, my grandparents had only my aunt at home, then 12 years old. Father was serving in the Pacific, his brother was serving in Germany, another brother had died on the battlefield just the year before and my other aunt was a clerk for the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. In other words, everyone in the family who was old enough to serve was doing so. Grandpa and grandma were both in their 50's. Both had enthusiastically worked for FDR's first election in 1932 and both had grown so deeply disillusioned that they had voted Republican for the first time the year before.

This woman grabbed Grandpa's arm and wailed "Oh, Grant, wouldn't you say FDR died for our country just like our boys in uniform did?"

Grandpa looked at her and said "Yeah, but he should have done it 12 years ago!"

Anybody want to take bets on whether the Senator’s debts (medical bills, transportation costs, etc.) will be paid by his estate?

His family and children hold the same vile views, and are just as corrupt and behave just as badly, as him. They ought to rename their clan the Augustians. Neither Jack the cold warrior tax cutter, nor Robert, the McCarthyite, would recognize any of them today.

so at least he was able to escape the rationing and get good care before dying.

According to the press he was getting exceptional treatment - radiation, chemo and an operation - much more health treatment than he was trying to give to the masses. If he would have taken the gov’t healthcare approach, he would have been sent home with pain meds - he’s over 65 don’t ya know!
