Survey of 800 Dealers: * 97% of dealers who responded, say the government is not reimbursing fast enough * 13% of dealers have dropped out the program because the government is not reimbursing fast enough and overall concern payment problems * 87% percent of dealers are concerned the money will be exhausted * 3% of CARS program deals have been reimbursed * 66% of dealers have not received one payment from the government

Isn't it outstanding? Credit peoplescube.com for that one. It's been around for a little while, but there are probably still some here at FR who haven't seen it yet, so I was hoping to catch 'em today.

I showed that to my mom (who is a grandma herself) & I don't think I've ever seen her laugh so hard in my life. It's funny cuz I never pegged her to appreciate gallows humor as much as I do, but there ya go - like daughter, like mother. I guess that old saying works backwards as well as forwards.;-)

Car dealers are getting screwed with this program.

If anyone had any influence on this, it was Ford, and GM CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS, not the franchisee (dealers). Already 50% of car dealers have opted out of this program.

It is destroying good used cars, and driving the wholesale cost of used cars through the roof. Also this rebate is like a narcotic, in that it will hurt the sale of new cars once the program ends.

The vast majority of dealers are conservative Republicans, and they despise Obama.

'Cash for clunkers disaster' ping, anyone for government run health care based on this model?

Obama gave up the 'fiscal conservative deficit cutting 'sales pitch for free health care (Obama lives by polls ) and is now trying a 'social-moral-Christian-values' sales pitch for free health care, Ask this question at a town hall meeting: “Did Jesus demand that Rome raise taxes on the Jews ( Pharisees ) at sword point to pay for Christians's bread, fish and wine??? And what effect would that have had on the Jews( Pharisees ) to Christianity ? ”When did support of increased secular Rome power/control become a Christian issue? When did Christian compassion become the government taking your property by force to give to specific voters?

How about house democrats investigating (so far it is a request) health insurance company's excecutive's pay but not the drug companies pay because the second cut a deal with Obama to run pro-Obama care commercials and the first opposes a public plan?? Could you write a script like that?

For some inexplicable reason, you are unable to differentiate between a Ford franchise(dealership), and Ford Corporate(manufacturer). Is that still too difficult for you? If so, I stand by my previous assertion.

Yep. It runs about half and half. I met Penske about 10 years ago, and he is a brilliant businessman. Also a Republican.

I figured I'd get at least one of these.

Anyone who's ever been through the "back room bump" would disagree about the "honorable" part.

If this is the administration’s definition of a “wildly successful” program, I’d love to see what they consider a failure.

And only the Dems would think a program successful just because it has spent all the money allocated without showing any corresponding increase in US auto sales.
