Car dealers had ABSOLUTELY no input in this program

Car dealers never wanted this program

Car dealers are getting screwed with this program.

If anyone had any influence on this, it was Ford, and GM CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS, not the franchisee (dealers). Already 50% of car dealers have opted out of this program.

Correctomundo

This was all about helping Govt Motors and FiatUSA and the UAW.
Most car dealerships are either well off Republicans or corporate biggies like Penske Group and AutoNation.

They couldn't decline to participate?

BTW, would there be anything illegal about a dealer obtaining a supply of really crummy worn-out (but still running--barely) engines and swapping them into vehicles before destroying them? What is the labor cost of swapping engines, if the newly-installed engine just has to be capable of surviving a trip around the block?
