Congressman: Town hall protesters committing 'political terrorism' @ 2:22 pm by Michael O'Brien
Protesters who have interrupted town hall meetings are guilty of committing "political terrorism," one Democratic lawmaker said Wednesday.
Rep. Baron Hill (D-Ind.), a centrist Democrat, said that he can tolerate political differences, those who have shouted down congressmen and senators at town hall meetings across the country in recent weeks have taken things to a different level.
"I don't mind people disagreeing with you, but just to blow up a meeting is an act of political terrorism," Hill told the Louisville Courier-Journal.
"They have only one purpose in mind and that's to blow up the meetings that are being held and that serves no one, ladies and gentlemen," he said of the protesters, according to WISH-TV. That outlet is also reporting that Republicans have demanded an apology from Hill over the terrorism words.
Those comments come after lawmakers have had to fend off the highly-publicized interruptions from constituents during the August recess, reflecting some dyspepsia over the healthcare reform plans before Congress.
House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) said earlier Wednesday that the town hall meetings are part of the healthcare battle, which he characterized as a "fight for the heart and soul of the United States of America."
Meanwhile, Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) said that he nationally televised town hall, which included unfavorable outbursts, was "terrific."
That’s kinda how we felt the last eight years, Baron.
If Bloomington stays home election day, this fool can be sent back home. He lost once already in this district.
Why so serious?
Hill also voted for the Cap & Tax bill. That’s how conservative he is.
The GOP will have some great fodder for campaigns if they choose to use it. If these dems shove through 0bamaCare against the wishes of the public, the blue dog coalition (Tier 1) will be summarily wiped out and we may also be able to sweep away some of the Tier 2 entrenched liberals in the process. It’s going to come down to how much the GOPers want it.
Don’t forget Michangander Dingell-berry compared his constituents to the KKK.
One mans terrorist another mans freedom fighter!
or that’s what I heard
Translation: They're making it impossible for me to use Town Hall participants has "human shields."
I guess it's tough to hide behind the human shields when they turn out to be the ones asking you the uncomfortable questions!

Know of this guy?
BRAVO!
I think he has been offered a cushy job in the administration or a think tank if he loses the next election (which he will). He only won his district by a couple of thousand votes, and that was because the democrats linked the Republicans to the legislature instituting Daylight Savings Time. (Some voters are not the brightest bulbs in the chandelier.)
Yep. See my post #93.
He’s done just from his Cap and Trade vote. He’s got Lee Hamilton’s old district, and they are conservative dems.
TOTAL DEMOCRAT CONTROL and POWER GRAB have awakened a Sleeping Giant.......GOOD!!!
Well, about 3 hours away. I haven’t been to Indiana in about 16 or 17 years. Hill has always voted well to the left of his constituents. I’m sorry Mike Sodrel wasn’t able to hold onto the district. I don’t know if the current candidates will be able to match Hill’s $$, as they aren’t first tier challengers.
thanks
They called GW Bush most (or more) of those and won handily in 2006 and 2008.
They've simply altered their target now.
Right you are.
However, unless they can figure out a way to fix the elections, MILLIONS of angry VOTERS will speak next fall. They have turned on the people who put them there....like eating their young.
