"They tipped their hand too soon" Tea Party vs. SEIU makes front page in St. Louis
St. Louis Post Dispatch, St. Louis Tea Party, My comments ^ | 8/9/2009 | GVnana

By now you know of the atrocity committed by SEIU union thugs against Kenneth Gladney, a slight, mild-mannered man who sold pins and flags at Russ Canahan's August 6th healthcare town hall in St. Louis.

The St. Louis Tea Party immediately organized a demonstration against the St. Louis offices of SEIU, placing the blame for Gladney's injuries exactly where they belonged -- on the head's of Barack Obama and his union goons. See: http://stlouisteaparty.com/

I wonder if SEIU can be prosecuted as a gang? Seems like they behave like one, so perhaps they need to be pursued in that manner.

Tickets and reservations are still available.

Think of this in the same way as not voting, if you don’t take the time to do it, you can’t bitch at the outcome.

To everyone - if you have to share rides, share a room, eat Mac-n-Cheese for a month after, get to DC. It’s that important that we, the American people, and Free Republic do not let this 2bit dictator tell us to shut-up without push-back.

It may very well work out that I can get away I just can't commit right this second.

Unfortunately for a lot of us, I have to do what is necessary to keep what business I still have coming in, I can't afford to let any slip away...but who knows, there still some time left, maybe it'll work out

I believe your mistaken on union conduct during the 20-30-40's. They were no different then than they are now.

My dad was a mounted policeman in Detroit during those years. The union was great at starting something and then playing victim for the reporters...

My dad always said "on the ladder of morality, newspaper reporters were 2 rungs lower than pimps...A pimp would not sell his mother or sister, but a reporter would sell both for a story"

My mothers brother was a small union organizer, so it was not talked about during family gatherings...(He was a great uncle and funny as the dickens, but after being in WW2, he stopped doing union stuff..)

St Louis has been a bastion of liberalism and corruption for years.

They must be hurting big time to call out the jack booted thugs to protect a liberal politician.

This is from Alinsky’s RULES FOR RADICALS”

Here it is, the liberals guide for political warfare as developed by Saul Alinsky. Read them , learn them and apply them daily. Beat the socialist with their own game! Share them with others.
.
.
.
RULE 1: “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” Power is derived from 2 main sources - money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood. (These are two things of which there is a plentiful supply. Government and corporations always have a difficult time appealing to people, and usually do so almost exclusively with economic arguments.)

RULE 2: “Never go outside the expertise of your people.” It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone. (Organizations under attack wonder why radicals don’t address the “real” issues. This is why. They avoid things with which they have no knowledge.)

RULE 3: “Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.” Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty. (This happens all the time. Watch how many organizations under attack are blind-sided by seemingly irrelevant arguments that they are then forced to address.)

RULE 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules. (This is a serious rule. The besieged entity’s very credibility and reputation is at stake, because if activists catch it lying or not living up to its commitments, they can continue to chip away at the damage.)

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions. (Pretty crude, rude and mean, huh? They want to create anger and fear.)

RULE 6: “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.” They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones. (Radical activists, in this sense, are no different that any other human being. We all avoid “un-fun” activities, and but we revel at and enjoy the ones that work and bring results.)

RULE 7: “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” Don’t become old news. (Even radical activists get bored. So to keep them excited and involved, organizers are constantly coming up with new tactics.)

RULE 8: “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new. (Attack, attack, attack from all sides, never giving the reeling organization a chance to rest, regroup, recover and re-strategize.)

RULE 9: “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist. (Perception is reality. Large organizations always prepare a worst-case scenario, something that may be furthest from the activists’ minds. The upshot is that the organization will expend enormous time and energy, creating in its own collective mind the direst of conclusions. The possibilities can easily poison the mind and result in demoralization.)

RULE 10: “If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.” Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog. (Unions used this tactic. Peaceful [albeit loud] demonstrations during the heyday of unions in the early to mid-20th Century incurred management’s wrath, often in the form of violence that eventually brought public sympathy to their side.)

RULE 11: “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.” Never let the enemy score points because you’re caught without a solution to the problem. (Old saw: If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem. Activist organizations have an agenda, and their strategy is to hold a place at the table, to be given a forum to wield their power. So, they have to have a compromise solution.)

RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)

If this had happen while Bush was president then the media would be howling for him to distance himself from these union thugs and condemn their actions or they would smear him with the same ink. But with BO it is like they saying hey Barry didn't know about Jeremiah Wright and his racism so how could he know his own words would insight these union guys to beat up honest citizens who want to express their first amendment rights peacefully.

DC Chapter of Freerepublic has a wonderful working relationship with the DC LEO. For years Kristinn was their leader...not sure if HE still is. But he speaks for FR on national television. You may have seen him.

Here are their rules.

RULES FOR PROTESTING

You are welcome to join us in our protests, but if you do, you need to observe the following rules:

No violence, no threats, no profanity, no racism, no law-breaking.

Law enforcement officers must be treated with respect.

Stay out of the street at all times, except when using a crosswalk with the traffic light.

Do not block the sidewalk to pedestrian traffic. Keep your signs from hanging over into the street.

Do not block the signs of, nor get within 10 feet of, our opponents.

Do not interfere with any media coverage of them. Our First Amendment rights are their rights, too.

Any arguments should be at 10 feet away to avoid conflict arising from passions on both sides.

If you choose to get close to them physically, do so in friendship as fellow Americans only.

Do not give the middle finger, call people jerks, tell them to go home or get a job.

Take the high road. Be civil, but resolute, when you are cursed at or given the middle finger; point out the rudeness of the leftists by chanting, “Mean spirited arrogant condescending liberal.”

Remember, we are here to support the rule of law under the U.S. Constitution.

These protest rules have stood us well for the past four plus years and have earned us the respect and friendship of conservatives everywhere.

Thank you for standing up for America.

I have federal employees healthcare but I am fighting against OBAMACARE with everything I can think of because anyone that thinks they won’t go after that next, better think again. Stupid Government unions. Never did understand why we even have unions in the Government. Laziest people I ever met with part of the Federal Employees Union. Work — foreign word to the jerks.

Pay over $300 a month for the privilege, but wonder what Congress and Cabinet Secretaries pay if anything? So far I have not gotten an answer.

I am not suggesting that we do anything inappropriate or contrary to the rules you listed.

I am suggesting that *if* the Dems and their union thugs continue to escalate their verbal (and now physical) attacks on us, we can expect a much more hostile environment in DC than what we expected when this protest was in an earlier planning stage.

These people figured they had a slam dunk after Hussein’s election. They have made it abundantly clear that they are prepared to use any means available, legal or not, in their efforts. And the RAT majority in congress, along with Hussein have also made it pretty clear that they will assist in this. I don’t have to tell you they don’t give a damn about little niceties like the law. They have practically accused us of breaking laws by coming to the town hall meetings and confronting the reps with hard questions.
