New email endorsement shows AARP going all-out for Dems, Obamacare (is that legal for a non-profit?)

New email endorsement shows AARP going all-out for Dems, Obamacare

Not that there was any doubt about it, but a new email campaign by AARP's liberal Democrat-dominated Washington staff makes it crystal clear that the leadership of the 40-million member seniors group is going all-out for Obamacare and the House Democrats' version of it, H.R. 3200.
The email alert is especially interesting because AARP is a tax-exempt non-profit that is barred from participating in partisan campaigns, though it is allowed to do a limited amount of legislative lobbying of Congress. No doubt the AARP leadership in Washington will argue they aren't doing anything they aren't allowed to do as a 501(c)(4), but this new email campaign throws the spirit of the law right out the window.
But wait, there is more. Erick Erickson at Red State details the steps by which AARP's Washington staff has moved the organization to its present position, and notes the growing opposition within the membership.

From here.
A provision in President Obama's health care reform bill encourages "end-of- life" counseling for seniors ...
The provision, tucked deep within the House bill, would provide Medicare coverage for an end-of-life consultation every five years, and more frequent sessions ...
Health providers would be required to explain to seniors the end-of-life services available
"This provision may start us down a treacherous path toward government-encouraged euthanasia if enacted into law," House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, R-Mich. said in a statement last month.
The AARP would happily see its membership turned into Soylent Green or the use earth grading machines to push old people into lime pits to adhere to its LEFTIST agenda. The "executive" of the AARP thinks its exempt.

I got two new solicitations from them today. I opened them, wrote on the insert that they are a disgrace and an embarrassment for supporting Obamacare. I stuck them in the prepaid envelopes they enclosed and mailed them back. I will do this with every piece of trash mail that they send me.

This morning, I went through two years of a stack of unread AARP magazines that I had. I pulled all the mailers out and sent them with little messages on them......91 of them in all.
I challenge all others to do the same.

The AARP does not represent the best interests of senior citizens. It is nothing more than a propaganda outlet for the DNC

AARP is in violation of their non profit status by being partisan. They must remove from their logo “nonpartisan”...where are the attorneys fo file briefs??

Sigh. I wished I belonged to AARP just so I could cancel my membership and tell them why. :) Guess I’ll just have to return their membership requests and let them know just how I feel about their “representation” on my behalf.

AARP is simply a marketing entity.
Obama's programs makes it easier for AARP to raise/make more money.

Now is a perfect time for someone to set up a breakaway organization and watch the members flee AARP.

I’m happy and proud to never have joined that ridiculous organization. I think their deal with health care is that they think that if older people are afraid of losing benefits, they’ll buy more AARP insurance.
I just turned 55 and there are plenty of diner discounts available for me without having to send money to a bunch of leftists.
