Durbin warns other lawmakers of healthcare town hall 'sucker punch' @ 3:39 pm by Jordan Fabian
Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) warned other members of Congress against antagonistic audience members at healthcare town hall events who may be funded by industry interest groups.
"I hope my colleagues won't fall for a sucker punch like this," Durbin told the liberal blog ThinkProgress.
"These health insurance companies and people like them are trying to load these town meetings for visual impact on television," he added.
Liberal news sources have recently featured items about conservative and interest groups efforts to pack lawmakers' town hall meetings with brash, vocal participants.
Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius were faced with a hostile crowd at a town hall meeting in Philadelphia on Sunday.
Here is video of Durbin's remarks:
Time and time again, these bugs in DC demonstrate that they don’t give a damn about what any of us think or want.
Until or unless THEY can clearly see that THEY are about to lose everything they have, and THEY recognize that it’s now personal, THEY will not do squat for the good of our country.
It is THEY that have brought this country to the brink of another civil war and the sooner THEY recognize that, the better...
If THEY don’t change soon, and listen to WE THE PEOPLE, there will be unforgiving hell on earth to pay....
so let’s get this straight-
when honest, hard working Americans voice their opinion on an issue that will negatively effect them to those who are suppose to represent them, it is only because they are being paid by lobbyists to do so....
yet at the same time the rats who are complaining about this applaud as unions bus their people in for political rally’s....
got it...
Yeah, Democrats know all there is to know about rent-a-mobs.
They’re not used to self-motivated constituents, what with all the union, enviro-whacko, feminazi and gay activist groups that clutter their usual townhall shows.
I don’t think they assume that at all. It’s a fiction they’ve fabricated in order to get the more docile members of the public who aren’t paying attention to the more intricate politics of the entire issue to believe that only staunch conservatives and the latest evil actor, health insurance companies, are opposing the bill. Divide and conquer. They are happy to pit American against American through lies and other deceptions in order to get their way.
Alinsky said separate the enemy and demonize him. This is the Alinsky method demonstrated in black and white right in front of us.
Talk about delusional! Good grief, these people actually think it would take the insurance industry, an industry a vast majority of U.S. Citizens literally hate, to drive an effort like this. And where do these political geniuses think the insurance industry gets these dupes?
Leaders in Washington, you need to come to grips with the real world. Outside the beltway, you folks are despised. We are not limiting it to ‘the other’ party these days either. We’re as mad at our own, as we are at the folks on the other side of the isle.
The treachery you folks have been carrying out, has garnered you absolute contempt, all the way around.

My ideas on that are probably too antiquated to describe on this forum. My ideas as to what comes next are at least 233 years old. :)
The people who spoke up that Durbin complains about should connect and present themselves to the media with their proof of IL addresses and perhaps pay stubs or what have you indicating they don’t work for a health care insurer and demand that they follow up on Durbin’s claim.
That is another thing we should do. We should individually drop by the offices of our critters. Just have private conversations with them, one right after another.
Further,
Just crowd, one at a time, in their offices. Take up the office time and keep them focused on the bill.
We need another Gingrich to rise up and become the true conservative voice of the people!
Go republicans, fight back!!!
Durbin does not have time to lower himself to speak at town meetings.
He is too busy with his insider trading activities.
“Are we at that point now? What might that look like? Where/how should it begin?”
You’ll know it when it gets to that point. And then you’ll have to choose sides, if you haven’t already. There will be no evading the issue.
#1 I don’t believe that it is paid industry people, that is just an attempt to discredit the voices of the people.
#2 It is pure projection. They are so used to having their union clowns and ACORN types pack their meeting with preplanned questions and providing the antagonism at conservative town halls, not to mention the complicit media, they don’t know what to do when someone stands up to ask them a tough questions and demand they tell the truth.
But we WILL fund a campaign to unseat all who vote against the will of the people. Count on it!
sw
PS..ACORN is funded!
Hey dick...what are you worried about? a sucker punch?
Heck Obamacare isn’t in yet, so you should be able to get a doc pretty fast if you get punched!
The idea of Durbin getting a sucker punch to his yapper is so euphoric that I get giddy just imagining it. But even better is the idea of a US Marine just staring him down until Durbin pees his pants.
Oh! No, no, no! Those are leftist groups funded by Soros and government grants; so, of course, they are just exercising their free speech.
Those of us who oppose the radical, left-wing agenda, however, are not entitled to voice our opinion, our anger, our disgust with what Durbin and his cronies are trying to push down our throats.
