A unique ten-line Aramaic inscription on the side of a stone cup commonly used for ritual purity during Second Temple times was recently uncovered during archaeological excavations on Jerusalem's Mount Zion, The Jerusalem Post learned on Wednesday.
Inscriptions of this kind are extremely rare and only a handful have been found in scientific excavations made within the city.

Yeah. Gotcha. Nobody here can see any connections between Zero and happenings in Israel. Let me make myself a quick note.
If that Kenyan doesn't make you a little deranged, my friend, you aren't paying attention.
By the way, whats that smell? Is that...Voter's Remorse?

The article reports:
“The new Aramaic inscription from the first century CE is currently being deciphered by a team of epigraphic experts in an effort to determine the meaning of the text, which is clear but cryptic.”

The new Aramaic inscription from the first century CE is currently being deciphered by a team of epigraphic experts in an effort to determine the meaning of the text, which is clear but cryptic.Hebrew was, at that time, written without vowels and often without spaces between the words. So even when the letters are clear, as they are here, deciphering the meaning is often hard.

I’ve decoded the text already. It’s a twitter feed from a 14 year old girls cell phone texting. No wonder it’s cryptic.

What are you, an effin idiot?
(Dont answer that)
There is NO CONNECTION between a President of the United States and ten-lines of Aramaic inscription etched on the side of a cup at some point between 516 BC and 70 AD.

I think the problem is not the Aramaic, but rather the cryptic idiomatic usage of the Aramaic.
Just as someone unfamiliar with medieval Christian lore would not understand an English inscription of: “The Chalice for which All Quests are made!” so too, one must know the idioms and context of 2nd Temple Aramaic Jewish society to gain an understanding of what these Aramaic words mean.
To: VaBthang4
be careful...someone might accuse you of "(insert name here) derangement syndrome"!
Sarcasm loses soooo much in the translation to text

What then, does that say about you?
Weirdo, huh? Wow. That hurt. I think what hurts even more is that it comes from someone who feels the need to hover on message boards and kibbitz on other people's comments that were obviously made in jest. "Obama derangement syndrome" Geez man. Buy some decaf and then go rent a sense of humor.I can't help it if you voted for him and now feel bad. Just know you can do better next time....and knowing is half the battle. (FYI: that part was a joke)
Best wishes to you, friend. Perhaps at some point you will go back and read the comments in the humorous context they were intended. If not, well... BIOYA!
