Freepers: in preparing for radio shows and appearances, I need some information. Yes, it's here (someplace) on FR, usually buried in a myriad of links. So I'm asking your help to get some concise and clear answers on some "birther" issues:
1) Is there a difference between a "Certificate of Live Birth" and a "Birth Certificate?" If so, what are the specific differences, and can a non-U.S. citizen obtain either or both?
2) Was, or was not, Pakistan on the State Department's "banned travel" list when Obama went there. This has been asserted and denied. Can anyone provide a list of such states from "da gubment" on the date in question?
3) In the noise and confusion, I have heard that a) the Hawaiian records were destroyed in 2001 or 2002; that b) the birth certificate exists; or c) a copy of the birth certificate exists. Which is it?
4) Is such personal information on a public figure subject to FOIA? (I know, it would take years, even if it was, but just asking).
5) What officials have claimed to have actually seen this, and would they know what to look for (if they inspected it at all?)

Her time line is hard to construct because there are so many lies in that family. THEY (OR DADDY) LIED ON THE MARRIAGE APPLICATION so clearly they (OR DADDY) had no problem breaking the law.
There is a REASON for her to go. She needed a legal marriage and she would have to go to Kenya to get it.
The other reason is that she didn’t want her child born in the US - because she was a radical.
I don’t really believe that was the reason- if she went.
Obama was a lawyer. He isn’t anymore. He was a constitutional lawyer. He is held to a higher standard.

His mother went to kenya and got married
OR
he was born in kenya.
He claimed he was a UK citzen. So maybe he really was born in Kenya.
I heard Michale Medved say on his radio show that Stanley Ann missed the citizenship rule by a couple of months. If she was born on November 29, 1942, by how many months did she fail to make the five year rule? It is obvious that Medved does not want to do the math.
Please just post the documentation that confirms his father was definitely married already in Kenya. Please do NOT tell me to read Obama’s book.

As far as I know, no.
There are those who say that she entered the University of Washington in September of 1961. I don't even know if there is proof of that, or anybody who saw her and the baby there. (Obama was born in August 1961.) Since she had graduated from HS in Mercer Island, WA a couple of years prior, surely there were some old friends around who may have seen her. Mercer Island is only a hop, skip, and a jump from UW campus. I had a baby born in June of that year, and I know that I wasn't ready to re-enter college so early after his birth. There are people on these threads that say that she wasn't sighted back in Hawaii until nearly a year after his birth. THe neighbors of the address cited in the newspaper announcement say that she never lived there with her baby and Barack Obama Sr. The address listed in the newspaper (Kapiolani Hwy) is in an expensive neighborhood, not the sort of place a young student-wife-mother could have afforded.
There are many, many unanswered questions and discrepancies.

Find me a source that says HE WASN’T married to the woman in Kenya.

You’re very defensive about this and I’ve seen nothing substantiating that Sr was married. You keep telling us that the information is everywhere but you never post any of it.
Just cough up the proof so we can see it. I HAVE seen the divorce papers from Dunham/Obama so there WAS a marriage between them. But I’ve seen nothing on Obama Sr and another woman before obama’s mother.
If you want to substantiate your claim, just post the proof so we can see it.

Do you have any evidence for this? As far as I know Techdude was the one claiming this, and he was discredited a long time ago. I asked Polarik about this, and here is the exchange:

I think that one hung around after Techdude was discredited because people didn't recall where it came from.

A COLB is OBTAINED, a birth certificate is ISSUED
BIG DIFFERENCE
Hospital issues a birth certificate for every live child delivered... signed by doctor and witness ... an official document.
Adopted children can obtain a new birth offcial certificate issued by a court, with different data (name, parents, even date of birth) - if the original official document is submitted
COLB is OBTAINED- petitioner (family membwr?) goes to the state office and gives the clerk the data to fill in the blanks. That is why COLB is NOT legal proof of anything
I forgot the to specify the part that’s important.
“If only one parent was a U.S. citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16. “
Obama’s mother was only 18. Some sources say the that “five of which after 16” is written as 14 in some lawbooks. Either way, at 18 she doesn’t qualify on her own to give Obama citizenship because his father was NOT a citizen. Had she had an American’s baby, it wouldn’t be a problem.

Opponents keep showing the COLB as if it were a birth certificate. Don’t get that they are different.
bo’s mom was in Kenya at 8 months pregnant and probably denied flight to US which is why she applied LATER for the COLB.
That with the depo by granny and the fact bo stated different hospitals of his birth, lack of college transcripts, million dollars to block release of documents all add up to serious questions of his place of birth.
You don’t see it discussed here much because it doesn’t fit the agenda.

there is one way to get around this if you can find a law or case law that says Immigration would have considered their marriage legal for the purposes of immigration even though they couldn’t legally get married in Hawaii.
There are some provisions in Immigration law for when a party has been duped. The ones I have seen regard a foreigner being duped by a US citizen who was already married. So far, I have seen no law that would allow for this illegal marriage. Doesn’t mean it isn’t out there. I just haven’t found it.
Instead of continuing to post garbage...posters should be looking to see if there is anything out there that would actually allow Immigration to consider Obama born of a marriage even though the marriage was illegal.
It would be something probably relataed to “void marriage”
Also, I am not sure Ann was duped. It is unclear if she knew he was already married.
