An aide to Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer has resigned after reportedly posting comments on her Facebook account defending racial profiling in the recent arrest of a Harvard professor and calling President Obama "O-dumb-a."
Lee Landor, who had been Stringer's deputy press secretary since May, posted a series of comments on her Facebook page over the weekend criticizing Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. and the president, the weekly newspaper City Hall News reported on its Web site today.

I am REALLY opposed to people getting in hot water for things said on a social networking site for friends to chat with friends.. This is thought police in action.

Unless she was posting on her facebook during office hours from her work computer, she should not be fired. One wonders whether or not the search for Bush haters was made as diligently.
Also, if you are going to police and censor people for posting social networking websites, you really need to be even handed. If an employee were to post that Obama is infallible and god-like and that Crowley was secretly in the KKK, would that employee get fired? Since that would be opinion rather than fact it is political speech. Our founders realized that political speech is just that. While there may be good or bad politics, that is to be sorted out in the market place of ideas. Not sorted out by some authority figure.

Me thinks this reporter got it wrong on two counts. I doubt that Stringer "RESIGNED," at least not willingly. We all know he was asked to leave.
Secondly, there was no racial profiling in this incident. So I doubt Stinger defended it. More likely the writer just used those words to incite more unrest over the case.
Who are these writers anymore? What drug are they taking? Why are they so excited to incite unrest and controversy - whether it be about race, or terrorism, or the war, or the health care bill? Journalism has become so evil in most cases those who are part of the media are the main part of the problem, as we all know. It is so disgusting that they have become such ugly promoters of dissent.
If they all hate this country so much, why don't they go live where they think their socialistic ideas are working, and the people are happy, and all live in an equal utopia? Hmmmm, guess there is no place like that!!!
