Apparently trying to relive his glory days, Bill Kristol this morning exhorted Republicans to try to finish off the Obama healthcare reform plan:
With Obamacare on the ropes, there will be a temptation for opponents to let up on their criticism, and to try to appear constructive, or at least responsible. There will be a tendency to want to let the Democrats' plans sink of their own weight, to emphasize that the critics have been pushing sound reform ideas all along and suggest it's not too late for a bipartisan compromise over the next couple of weeks or months.
My advice, for what it's worth: Resist the temptation. This is no time to pull punches. Go for the kill.
Who can disagree? Surely the last thing the GOP should try to do now is "appear constructive, or at least responsible."

Failure!
Failure thy name is Obama........
He’s right. Obama has a track record of doing something that provokes outrage, backing off on it until the shouting has died down, and then sneaking ahead and doing it anyway. So we can’t let up.
As a softball coach and manager, I firmly believe that you need to recognize when to “pour it on” and completely eliminate the competition.
I don’t see this eliminating the competition, William. Lots more innings to come.
::::rolls eyes::::
UNWR knows all about trying to relive one's glory days.
Ask yourself: if the roles were reversed, would you expect them to suddenly become constructive, or go for your throat?
The Repubs had better slap down this money-grubbing abortion call “Healthcare Reform”, slap down 0bama, slap down the Dem led Con-gress, and all the earmarks they attached to this bill.
2010, That’s when we need to go for the throat.
Throw this pack of RINO’s and liberal Dems out on the street.
Failure thy name is Obama........
....2010 is coming, keep the pressure up!
Maybe I ask too much, but how about proposing that we restore some free enterprise to our health care system as a better, and morally right, alternative to socialism.
Do any Repubs believe in free enterprise?
Conservatives need to do a whole lot more of this. Democrats know to go for the jugular and pour it on until they’ve won. We have not had anybody like that since Tom Delay stepped down.
It would be irresponsible to let up on valid and factual criticisms of the Obama Care health care reform bill. Wild and crazy exhortations wouldn’t be good, but since this bill is full of very bad juju even the rational, valid, and factual criticisms come off as sounding “crazy”.
But that’s been the norm when exposing Obama’s many flaws. They are so odd and career killing that nobody who is inclined to believe in him because he is a well spoken black man is going to believe that he made it as far as he did with that many skeletons in his closet.
Pingeroo!
UFC/MMA rules apply. When you see your opponent goes wobbly and fall to the mat, GO BERSERK WITH THE HAMMER FISTS.
I totally agree. Free enterprise is what made us great. Daring people risking their own hard-earned money to make a product or provide a service. Incentive must be a part of the equation or it is simply socialism. The GOP must grow a pair.
Bill Kristol...you may not like him but...he tells it like it is.
If you haven't figured out what the Democrats and the media are up to with all these doom and gloom articles about health care going down, try these theories on for size. Theory 1: They are planting the idea that health care is in trouble so that when it passes, Obama can claim credit for pulling victory from the jaws of defeat.
Don't like that one, how about Theory 2: The Democrats and the media are are pretending health care is in trouble so that conservatives will stop fighting because they think they have already won.
Don't be fooled. The only way the United States escapes from the horrible health care Obama and Company want us to have is if we fight it with all the intensity we fought the immigration bill. And I don't see that level of intensity on this board. What I see here is smug sense of ‘we are right’ so we will win. Sorry, it doesn't work that way. As the saying goes...all that is needed for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing. And most of the good people on this board seem to be doing nothing.
