Free Republic is a co-sponsor of the 9-12 March on DC. We are not the organizer. There are several grassroots organizations involved. We're just one of the co-sponsoring organizations.
Like the thousands of protests our FReepers have organized, co-sponsored, or attended in the past, it is a peaceful protest. There has never been any violence at any of our protests. Ever! And NONE of them ever have been armed protests. Neither is this one. No arms. No violence.
And no we are not taking over the government. We're simply exercising our first amendment rights to peaceful assembly and to petition the government for redress of grievances.
Among other things, we are protesting the government's alarming slide into socialism, Marxism, fascism.
We are protesting the government using hundreds of billions of our tax dollars to bail out or take over banks, financial companies, insurance companies, car companies, or any other private enterprise.
We are protesting the government spending trillions of our tax dollars on ill advised and ineffective stimulus packages.
We are protesting the government raising taxes on energy which will raise the costs of every product and service manufactured or delivered in America. Costs will soar for every product or service sold to every consumer, even on the most basic and required goods and services. This is a huge disguised tax increase on ALL Americans!
We are protesting the government's foolish and admitted attempt to bankrupt the electricity, oil, gas and coal producing industries. This is absolute madness! Our country, our industrial might, our military might, our businesses, our households, all Americans depend on electricity, oil, gas and coal for fuel, heating, manufacturing, transportation, national defense. Crippling these core industries would bring America to her knees and bring about the greatest depression this world has ever known.
We are protesting against the introduction of government provided health care or health insurance. Health care is a private issue. We do not want government bureaucrats making our health care decisions for us. We do not want government workers deciding who is worthy of health care and who is allowed to die, or even encouraged to die.
Health care is a private enterprise and should remain as such, other than possibly local clinics and assistance to the poor and truly needy. There is no constitutional provision for a federal health care system. We are still a free country and would like to remain a free country.
We are protesting against all of these foolish, expensive, unconstitutional and unnecessary socialist/fascist policies and acts that are driving up our costs, driving up our taxes, driving up our debt, driving up unemployment, crippling our economy and weakening our nation.
If you think government is too big, too expensive, too much into socialism, Marxism, fascism, etc, and too far out of control and acting beyond its lawful constitutional limits and would like to loudly say enough is enough, then please join us in D.C. on September 10 through September 12.
So we selected a hotel that had enough rooms and a large enough banquet and ballroom facility to handle our large group. And we negotiated a rate for the rooms and banquets so that the total cost for the rooms plus the banquet dinner and brunch events would not be that much more than what it would have cost for the rooms and meals only if each person had to book with the hotel at the regular non-discounted individual rates. Yes, the tickets are a bit on the expensive side, but then a facility that can hold a nice banquet dinner of 400-600 people, plus other extras costs quite a bit and we had to commit to a certain number of attendees and a cost per person.
We also wanted to make sure it was a nice event. A tent on the mall with hamburgers and hotdogs did not seem appropriate.
We also wanted to attract some nationally known and well-respected conservative speakers. That means we must have an attractive and secure venue. So, we have what we have. And I think it's doable for most folks that can make their way to D.C.
Again, this national Freeper convention is separate from the National Tea Party Protest and in no way should detract from that great event. Even if you can't attend our convention, please try to make it to the Tea Party Protest in D.C. Our Liberty depends on it!

Rebellion is brewing!
DONT TREAD ON ME!!
See you there!
Both and more.
Click the source link at the top of the page. I do not know if anyone’s planning buses, but I know there is at least one caravan. I’m coming in from California on the Tea Party Express: http://teapartyexpress.org
Sorry I wasn’t clear Is the link on the front page or up top like the freepathons are listed?
Yes, there is a link on our home page to the 9-12 march on DC.
Hi, Are you registered on your Indiana Free Republic Forum? That is a great place to get in contact with other Freepers from your state to organize a bus as a group and get a great rate. Freepers in many states are doing that along with many 9/12 groups since a good group rate can be found. I have also heard of folks getting together to car pool if the distance isn't too far. Hope to see you in DC!
Everyone should come with their state flag. If there is more than one of you bring a state flag, US flag, Iranian flag, Honduran flag, Don’t Tread on Me flag, etc.
it’s a date then
seeing as we’re in the same state are us from here going up together?
“Must be because they all hate their fathers and dream of doing their mothers.”
LOL.
The guy that I was debating said in the end that the Constitution is a living document, and that MY views are what’s dangerous to this country.
this is the way I look at it/
years ago many men and women marched, yes marched many miles to have an America.
They found their transportation by any means and a lot of will.
I left a the Uk because I wanted the American dream.
I have never been into any kind of protests until this tea party and one thing is for sure.
If men and women can give their life I can certainly find some way to get there and sacrifice my weekend when they have sacrificed their life for our right to do this.
I will be damned that I want my new country go and turn into a crap hole of socialism.
I will not take my SIG, I will not have any kind of outrageous signs so the media can pick up on it and use it as a weapon against us and we know they will .
They will try and pick out a silly sign and use that over and over
see ya there Jim.
another thing.
we have many on here so surely we can get at least over 605 of posters there.
Will the NRA, TAX groups, CPR, abortion etc be there too Jim?

We’ll be there unless there is a Hurricane heading this way. Plans already made, meeting relatives from Jersey there and traveling with several others from southern states.
I’m in the game! I will be arriving on Friday evening 9/11 and be there for the Saturday events.
Any other Kansan’s in the game!

I’ll see you there!
Sic Semper Tyrannis
I’m in. And I’ll be bringing friends. Let’s rock their world!
Thanks, have read pard and bumped.
Great idea. In any case we should all bring a big supply of tea bags. Maybe if they get the military out we can hang them on their rifle barrels.
I have for a long time put forth the call for a national strike. People stay home from work. Go to a tea party on 9/12.
Don’t take sick pay or vacation pay. The idea is to starve the spending liberal spree. If 50% of working America stayed home from work 1 day, it would take millions of dollars away from the government.
We have to starve tyranny. They may try to force health care and climate change on us. But they can’t force us to work.
You are so right. Am making plans to be there.
