ATF to Montana: 'You will respect our authoritah!'

On Friday, we saw the letter ATF sent to FFL dealers in Tennessee telling them the Bureau was overriding the state's Firearms Freedom Act, and would continue to impose federal requirements in disregard of state law.

oops, funny typo there.

“out laws” (applicable)
should be “our laws”

Believe you me, I'm right there with him. Something has got to give, and soon, or the USA is done as a constitutional republic.

Better yet, make it a state hate-crime, with "enhanced" penalties.

And don't forget to hit them with 'gun crime' bonus points when they do it.

“Denial of civil rights under color of law”

is already a serious offense.

Thanks for the ping. I'd be careful with this. IMHO, the timing is suspicious. Right now, the administration is focused on getting Cap and Trade passed and nationalizing health care. They need to get that legislation passed before anyone gets a chance to figure out exactly what's in it and what the consequences will be.

I think it's entirely possible that this administration would orchestrate another Waco or Ruby Ridge to get what's going on in Congress out of the news long enough to get it rammed through without a lot of public scrutiny. They'll throw Holder under the bus if they need to. Any civilian or federal LEO casualties would be acceptable collateral damage for the greater good.

I don’t think they’d “risk” sending in the military to enforce federal law against citizens. They still would want to maintain the veneer that the military backs the president.

“..Waco,.. Depending on the time, it was based on either child abuse or illegal weapons.”

The actual warrant that “authorized” the arrest of Koresh and a search of the premises ONLY mentions guns. That heinous group of Branch Davidians had the audacity to own 116 AR-15s and approximately 50 handguns of varying types. These were ominously stored in an armory on the compound.

Considering that there were 80 FAMILIES (with 2+ adults each), there's a very good reason the Feds never released the details of the warrant during the siege! That is, the strange, but otherwise peaceful Davidians possessed no more weapons than the average American! The siege might well have become another Lexington, even the date, 19 April, matched!

The child abuse cr@p was pure disinformation put out by the Feds; everyone is against child abuse. Some of us at the time suspected it was BS, because there's NO FEDERAL STATUTE GOVERNING CHILD ABUSE!!

Under which Constitutional enumerated power does the federal government demand they have any authority to regulate firearms???

I wish I could believe that the military would turn on Pres. Obama. Unfortunately, I don’t. I think they’d play this as a “rogue” state government and use force against them. And I think that the military would obey their orders.

>>> “ This country needs to be taken back the same way it was stolen, through the Constitution and rule of law..

I pray that works because the alternative would leave us permanently fractured”

Unfortunately, we are not going to be able to take this country back. The best we can hope for is to take our FREEDOM back, at least initially. Who knows, maybe some years down the road the tools that have been indoctrinated into the marxist cult will finally decide to throw off their chains. But that is up to them, we cannot force them to be free if they insist on being slaves.

This nation IS permanently fractured, but thats water under the bridge... I wouldn’t trouble yourself over it, worry instead about giving real freedom and liberty a foothold, a home... Lets create a place for people to go who wish to throw off the chains.

The chain of command lies in the loyalty of the individuals involved.

Law.. In and of itself cannot compel loyalty, that is left for men to decide on their own. Therefore since we cannot hope to change that “law” we must instead appeal to the men and convince them and recruit them into the cause.

Do you think that the JBTs at the ATF will have a problem breaking down someone’s doors, trashing their house and threatening people at gunpoint?

“Ok, let's take this hypothetical event a little further - what would happen if thousands of armed citizens showed up in Tennessee to support the state and oppose the feds?”

Same as last time something like that happened. Civil war. The feds will kill anyone who refuses their authority.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, too. I fought one pointless war, but I'm willing to fight this one if need be. Saving America from these dictators and tyrants is a little more important to me than freeing people in SEAsia.

Somewhere, buried in the stacks of my library is a book which contains the debate on whether the UN should be a forum or a World Government, written in 1947.

Coming on the postwar heels of the failed League of Nations, this is no surprise. The socialists have been chipping away at the very foundations of freedom for a long time, and the UN is their latest best hope at Global Socialism.

If the jbs you refer to is the one I think it is, I disliked the UN as so much as a concept before I heard of jbs, and the information I have obtained, and the actions of the UN and its members since have only reinforced that to the point where I believe the UN should be disbanded, defunded, and the real estate used for a better purpose. At the very least, I believe the US should be out of it.
