Trig Palin has divided America
Politico ^ | 7-17-09 | Gary Bauer & Daniel Allott

Reactions to Sarah Palin’s decision to resign the governorship of Alaska have been a reminder of her unmatched ability to elicit strong emotions from friend and foe alike. We know some of the reasons why. It’s her evangelical Christianity and her folksy manner. It’s her small-town roots and her “new feminism.”

But there is something more. A year ago, Palin gave birth to her youngest son, Trig, who has Down syndrome. Since then, mother and son have become objects of the left’s unrelenting scorn and the right’s unflinching fidelity.

An underexamined reason why Palin is loved and loathed so fiercely is her intimate association with two of our most divisive issues: disability and the right to life.

In her resignation statement, Palin suggested her decision was due in part to her family’s reaction to personal attacks against Trig. Those comments stoked the rage of the Palin-haters. At Talking Points Memo, an article sarcastically suggested that Palin resigned because “she wants to spread Down syndrome ... because Down syndrome is just too cute to be reserved for one in 800 births.”

A Paliban Daily article titled “Sarah Palin’s Retarded Platform: More Trigs!” interpreted Palin’s outspokenness on disability rights as a political ploy to win votes. Other articles contained subtle but unmistakable eugenic overtones.

My local supermarket makes a point of also hiring developmentally challenged young adults...

..and every one is gracious, respectful and extremely hard working.

They spread sunshine every time they're there!
..and they don't shirk their job.

That PHOTO represents the kind of AMERICA I want to live in. One where a mom openly loves her less than perfect little one in front of our nation.

I do believe that Trig's existence woke up a huge population in our country to the culture of death the liberals have been promoting since forever.(ALL liberals are margaret sanger's in their hearts. Sotomayor is, ginsberg [who beieves girls as young as TWELVE YEARS OF AGE SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT to CONSENT TO SEX]-it is enough to make one HATE THEM.

This picture shows GENUINE COMPASSION.

Liberals HATE that.

They are such fake, shallow, creepy 'let me slide my hand into your pocketbook' dirtbags it has become SURREAL!

Look what a fag did to Miss California! And got away with it. Liberals are filthy.

Helen Keller was blind and deaf due to an illness when she was 19 months old. She was healthy at birth.

However, I’m sure the modern Death Eaters would have been happy to have her eliminated once she was handicapped. No “quality of life,” “useless eater,” etc.

Her decision NOT to kill him reminds the left
that this is the morally superior decision.

It also reminds them that they, who would choose to kill him,
are in the morally inferior position,

and even more, it reminds them that they are perishing - eternally speaking.

Read the history of Nazi Germany and how Hitler’s regime viewed the disabled.

The language may be slightly less vitriolic, the method less bloodthirsty (abortion) but the intent of the Far Left and Nazism is the same, to eradicate disabled folks from playing any part in the society.

To me, the question is not whether Sarah Palin is worthy enough to be President. Instead, I wonder if America, in its present state, is worthy of the honor having her as President.

If I believed we were here by evolution (inorganic to organic by mere chance) then I and I alone would be God, that is, to me. And, when I would see the senseless, inane, dribble from dregs like the scourge currently called liberals, the fit, progressives, Third-Way, the illumined ones, etc. I would do everything I could to take them out.

But, an eye for an eye, tooth for tooth, vengeance is MINE says the Lord...not my job. But there will be hell to pay far worse than I can do anyhow.

For table time, I think Jeremiah Wright is a greater issue...

All they are trying to do is deflect table time from their real issues and agenda.

“They are GODLESS...”

I believe that is the whole problem. When they look at someone like Trig, they see a “defect” that society needs to be protected from. “Defects” need to be corrected or eliminated. I see a precious and unique creation made by a Loving God, who according to His words was made in His image - as we all are. I know a child with Downs Syndrome. It is no doubt that they present challenges - but they also give rewards. The “very least of these” can teach us some of our most profound lessons, if we open our eyes — and hearts.—JM

From the article: These biases have helped produce an abortion rate of up to 90 percent for babies with Down syndrome , cystic fibrosis, spina bifida and other genetic conditions.

Such abortions will probably be mandatory under Obamacare.

These people are so vile. There's a special place in Hell for people like these.

Dante would probably put them in the Seventh Circle, Outer Ring. Violent against persons and property. You can't be more cruelly violent than actively campaigning for the death of an innocent child, short of killing it with your own hand.

Hm. This article seems to be more about Gary Bauer and what he wants and believes, than anything having to do with Sarah Palin....

Of course, it being Gary Bauer, I suppose one might expect that.

Sarah’s very existence gives the lie to the left’s claims of their own superior tolerance, love of diversity and inclusion, and respect for the choices of others.

She lives the kind of life they claim for themselves but to which they only give lip service.

Every time they see her or hear her voice they know they are reduced by her in any meaningful comparison.
They know their words and their lives are but hollow lies.

And they hate her for showing to themselves and the world how small and false they really are.

Souless freaking pigs, they are.

Last year we had a Sunday football party and one of my husband’s friends made a disgusting comment about the truthless rumor that Trig is actually Bristol and Todd’s baby.

I went ballistic, kicked him out and said to never step foot back on my property again.

Anyone who makes jokes out of such vile and satanistic things is not welcome in my home.

There are people who spend more on race horses and purebred dogs and cats (not to mention what taxpayers are forced to spend on career loafers and criminals) than on Down's Syndrome kids, yet you don't hear libtards complaining about them.

Back in my traveling days, I used to regularly stop at a restaurant which had a DS young lady on the staff. She was pleasant, super clean and prided herself in making sure that the customers had drink refills, spill cleanups and anything they wanted to discard cleaned away. I don't know if she was the daughter of the owner or actually worked for minimum wage (or more), but thought the attention and service she gave to the travelers was head and shoulders above 99.6% of the places I ever stopped.

America has been divided far before Trig was born.

Trig is also a reminder of an inescapable truth: Disability is an inherent part of the human condition. At a time of deep cultural divisions, 1-year-old Trig Palin represents the deepest division of all, between a culture that increasingly sees genetic perfection as an entitlement and a culture still rooted in the belief that human beings are defined not by their capabilities but, instead, by the very fact of their humanity.

While the title of the article is vile to me, the article, itself, is a disemboweling of the left's desire to kill innocent babies - especially those with birth defects. Special needs children often wind up being the best gift God has provided to their parents. Yes, special needs children CAN, sometimes, be a handful but, ultimately, serve as the best teachers of love - something far too many of us "normal" people don't have that good a grasp of. God bless Sarah, Trig and their whole family.
